Hi 👋🏾 I’m Abhik https://www.linkedin.com/in/abhikpramanik, Ashby's Co-Founder and VP of Engineering. We’re looking for an ambitious full-stack engineer who is laser-focused on solving customer problems and making the right long-term investments to solve them not only today but in our future features and products. What Ashby gives you in return is the best of both early and growth-stage environments. The agency and no-nonsense of a seed startup: you write product specs, make product and design decisions, and build in an almost-no-meeting culture. While also the product-market fit and scale of a growth-stage startup: tens of thousands of daily users who depend on your software and eagerly await your next feature. We have notable customers like Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. Our growth and retention metrics are best-in-class among our peers: we have tens of millions in ARR, growing >100% year over year, very low churn, and many years of runway. We’ll share more details once we meet. You’ve probably seen this role posted before, and it’s because we’re always expanding the team (we’re on track to double this year). We’re bubbling with ideas on how to support Talent Acquisition through software, and we’ve started the journey of building products beyond Talent Acquisition. We read every application and aim to respond to yours within 3-4 days (often sooner). ABOUT THE ROLE AND HOW WE WORK Our engineering culture strives to recreate the environments where we did our best work as ICs – where we had the ownership and agency to impact our users with creative and innovative software. I started my career building software for artists in the Visual Effects industry. It was a formative experience for me as a software engineer because success relied on my ability to be a product manager and designer. I talked to artists to understand their needs. I came up with ideas. I did industry research, designed interfaces, and prototyped ideas. I watched artists use what I built and decided what to tackle in the next iteration. No daily stand-ups, no t-shirt sizing, no planning meetings. I studied computer science to solve problems, not tickets, and this felt exactly like that. I not only felt creative and fulfilled but the agency and ownership we were given as engineers powered an incredible amount of innovation. Innovation came differently (or not at all) at technology startups beyond the seed stage, often through an engineer’s force of will and ability to push back against culture (rather than any encouragement from it). Engineering was narrowed to implementation and delivery, partly due to the influence of other departments and partly due to the influx of "Agile" processes like sprint planning. In those companies, I felt like a JIRA jockey. At Ashby, we’re building an environment that is optimistic about what engineers can own and achieve. An environment that embraces innovative engineers, and, frankly, often stays out of their way. As a Product Engineer, you’ll take ownership over a large portion of one of our products and own projects end-to-end (wearing hats traditionally worn by product and design). You’ll research competitors, write product specs, make wireframes, and more. To ground it with examples, product engineers at Ashby have: - Designed and built automated interview scheduling. This feature automates scheduling by calculating possible times from a pool of interviewers and other constraints, and then presenting these times to the candidate for selection via our responsive web app. This solves the “Calendar Tetris” problem I talk about in "What We're Building." - Built a generalized declarative filter architecture that allows users to create complex filters for any record with a consistent UI and compile it to SQL in our backend. Many user-facing features use it. - Specced, designed, and implemented a feature that allows users to complete signing offers entirely within Ashby. This project involved talking to customers to understand their requirements, deciding what technologies to use, building a prototype, and working with other team members to integrate the final implementation into additional features. WHAT WE’RE BUILDING As engineers, we are used to tooling that makes us better at what we do. When we started Ashby, we saw the opposite with Talent Acquisition software. Recruiting teams were leveling up how they did their work, but instead of software meeting this new standard, it held them back. Scheduling a final round is an excellent example. Recruiting teams wanted to schedule candidates faster, track interviewer preparation and quality, and do it with half the headcount. A recruiter needed to manually collect availability from the candidate, identify qualified interviewers, perform “Calendar Tetris” to find who is available to interview the candidate, schedule on the earliest date possible, and make any last-minute adjustments as availability changed. CLI Engineer

ABOUT SUPABASE Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Senior CLI Engineer to join our CLI Team and help build a world-class local development experience - while owning a significant share of the API and backend work that powers it. This is a hands-on individual contributor role. Technically, expect roughly 80% backend / API work and 20% CLI work: most of your time will be on TypeScript server-side development, primarily with NestJS (API modules, controllers, services, integrations), with a steady commitment to cross-platform CLI quality, releases, and developer experience. You will work closely with customers, product teams, and the open source community to deliver systems that are consistent, secure, and performant - across Windows, Linux, and macOS for the CLI, and through well-designed APIs for everything else. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in async, fast-paced environments and wants depth in backend delivery without stepping away from CLI and DX as a core part of the job. WHAT YOU’LL OWN - Design, build, and operate backend APIs and services in TypeScript, using NestJS patterns (modules, providers, pipelines) where that is how we ship - prioritizing security, performance, and clear contracts for internal and external consumers. - Design and develop CLI tooling that is consistent, secure, and performant across Windows, Linux, and macOS, aligned with the same platform capabilities the backend exposes. - Collaborate with product and platform teams to define end-to-end behavior: from HTTP/API design through to how the CLI and local development stack surface those capabilities. - Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests across backend and CLI so reliability and maintainability stay high as the surface area grows. - Create documentation and help content for API consumers, CLI users, and contributing developers. - Participate in releases, versioning, and backwards compatibility for the components you own. - Monitor usage and feedback; work with customers and the open source community to improve both API/backend and CLI experiences. WHAT YOU’LL BRING - 5+ years of software development experience with a strong track record in backend systems and/or developer-facing tooling. - Strong TypeScript and professional experience shipping production API and server-side code; NestJS experience is strongly aligned with how the CLI Team builds. - Hands-on experience with command-line tools (building, maintaining, or owning CLIs), including cross-platform concerns: filesystem access, subprocess management, terminal UX, and platform-specific behavior. - Proficiency in one or more languages commonly used for CLI and backend work (for example TypeScript/Node, Rust, Python, Go, C++). For this role, depth in TypeScript is essential. - Experience building CLIs with strong user experience: intuitive command structure, clear output, and actionable error messaging. - Familiarity with package distribution and installation (for example npm, yarn, Homebrew, APT, Snap, Scoop, Chocolatey) as they relate to how users install and update tools. - Solid Git workflow and CI/CD experience for automated testing and deployment. Nice to have: - Contributions to open-source CLI tools, libraries, or backend frameworks. - Experience with containerization and orchestration (for example Docker, Kubernetes). - Familiarity with database migration management, Postgres, and related drivers or protocols where they intersect platform or CLI workflows. WHAT WE OFFER - Fully Remote We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world. - ESOP Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together. - Tech Allowance Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work. - Health Benefits Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us. - Annual Off-Sites Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year. - Flexible Work We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when. - Professional Development Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your grow

We are a 100% remote company with 1,600+ team members across 40+ countries, and we’re backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, GIC, Coatue, J.P. Morgan, CapitalG, and Lead Edge Capital. Learn more at grafana.com and follow us on LinkedIn and X . We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do. You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity. Senior Software Engineer - Application Core Services This is a remote position. We are considering candidates in Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Spain and the UK only. The Opportunity: Application Core Services (AppCore) partners closely with our Cloud, Enterprise, and Grafana teams to deliver reliable internal and customer-facing systems that power critical parts of the Grafana business. We build on the grafana.com platform to create custom solutions and integrations across the many systems that support a modern software company. The team owns important domain areas that help keep both our customer workflows and internal business processes running smoothly. AppCore is made up of multiple squads, each focused on one or more of these domains. Our work includes maintaining the billing engine responsible for customer usage calculation, automating provisioning after a customer signs a contract, integrating with cloud marketplaces such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and building and maintaining the user portal our customers rely on to manage their accounts. This is a team working at the intersection of product, platform, and business operations. The systems we build are critical to how Grafana scales. We are looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex workflow and systems problems, improving reliability and developer experience, and building software that directly supports both customers and internal stakeholders.
