Country Marketing & Communication Lead - Germany

Remote ✓EN
Z

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS ZOE is expanding into continental Europe, and Germany is our flagship market. We are the world’s leading gut health science company, best known for our science-backed app, the world’s #1 nutrition podcast, and breakthrough publications in The Lancet and Nature. We are the world’s leading gut health science company, best known for our science-backed app, the world’s #1 nutrition podcast, and breakthrough clinical research published in top journals like The Lancet and Nature. We already see strong organic brand search demand across Germany and we need a senior, hands-on operator on the ground to turn that momentum into a live, market-leading presence and sustainable revenue growth. This is a 0-to-1 build role, not a maintenance position, nor one about delegating to agencies from a distance. You will be ZOE’s senior marketing and communications lead in-market, standing up our commercial growth strategy, brand narrative, in-person partnerships, and Tier-1 media presence with clarity, structure, and local cultural precision. ABOUT THE ROLE As our Country Marketing & Communication Lead – Germany, you will hold total ownership over our German market entry (roughly 75% focus) while collaborating on global brand and science moments (roughly 25% focus). • Senior Hands-On IC: This is a senior, independent individual contributor role with approximately 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. Seniority here reflects craft maturity, autonomy, and strategic judgment, rather than people management. You will be a hands-on operator who builds, executes, and owns workstreams end-to-end with no direct reports. • Commercial & Comms Hybrid: You lead local GTM growth, in-market partnerships, and PR strategy, acting as the primary lead on the ground who briefs and collaborates with central UK and US performance, creative, lifecycle, and finance teams. • Reporting & Matrix Structure: Reports directly to the GM of International Growth, with the Head of Global Communications as your key PR partner. You will operate independently in Germany while plugging directly into a supportive UK and US matrix engine across Science, Performance, Creative, and Lifecycle. THE TEAM You’ll be joining a supportive, senior global team spanning Growth, Performance, Lifecycle, PR, Corporate Communications, Brand, Science, and Product. While you will operate independently on the ground in Germany, you'll be backed by a world-class engine in the UK and US providing a constant pipeline of clinical research, spokesperson availability, and proven playbooks to adapt for your market. WHAT YOU WILL DO 1. Own the Germany Market Entry (~75% Focus) Commercial Growth & In-Market Partnerships: • Act as the commercial strategist on the ground. Partner with Finance and brief central Lifecycle, Performance, and Product teams to test local growth levers, including pricing, email programmes, and local acquisition campaigns. • Build and execute local partnership and offline activation strategies by meeting partners, ambassadors, and key industry stakeholders face-to-face to drive brand awareness and revenue. • Take direct accountability for local commercial targets, measuring impact through structured data metrics (brand search volume, web traffic, user sign-ups, and conversion) rather than vanity metrics. PR & Brand Localisation (Culture-Specific Narrative): • Adapt ZOE’s science-led story for the German consumer mindset by focusing on scientific proof, clinical rigor, and functional benefits rather than hype or translated UK copy. • Stand up and run the German press office end-to-end: build media lists, write press pitches, cold-outreach journalists, secure Tier-1 coverage, and coordinate product sampling and media events. • Personally execute local PR and communications workstreams. Select, brief, and oversee external support (such as freelance designers or local event production agencies) only when needed for execution scale. 2. Global Integration & Cross-Market Support (~25% Focus) • Leverage Global Science Moments: Adapt major company-wide science publications, global product launches, and brand campaigns for the German market. • Cross-Market Playbooks: Share local DACH market insights, commercial test results, and PR playbooks back and forth between Germany and the established UK/US teams. • Executive & Spokesperson Support: Draft high-impact briefing documents, opinion pieces, press releases, and Q&As in both German and English, supporting ZOE spokespeople for international engagements. WHO YOU ARE • Commercial Brand Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience launching or scaling a consumer brand in Germany, ideally in health, wellness, nutrition, science, or consumer tech. You lead with structured business outcomes such as revenue, brand search, traffic, and sign-ups. • True Hands-On Operator: High autonomy, structured self-management, happy operating without a local …

The funnel is simple: ad quiz trial subscription. The scale is: ~200 countries, 30+ languages, hundreds of Search campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. You will be measured on two numbers: daily conversions and cohort ROI — not clicks, not traffic. You'll operate with serious leverage: an API-driven build pipeline and AI tooling handle the mechanical work. Your job is judgment — what to scale, what to cut, where the next dollar goes. The bar is high and so is the upside: performance here is directly and significantly rewarded, and strong operators take on bigger scope fast. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OWN THE ACCOUNT • Own account architecture, campaign structure, and naming conventions across Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising • Develop and maintain SOPs for keyword management, bid strategy, and performance review cycles OWN THE KEYWORD UNIVERSE • Full ownership of segmentation, match-type logic, negative build-out, and ongoing expansion • Systematically identify and test new keyword opportunities using search term data, auction insights, and competitor signals • Keep keyword health at scale: regular audits, quality score monitoring, search query analysis MANAGE BUDGETS LIKE A CFO • Manage monthly budgets with direct accountability for CPA and ROAS • Define and execute A/B testing roadmaps across ad copy, landing pages, and bidding strategies • Partner with the analytics team to track funnel performance and attribute revenue accurately REPORT AND IMPROVE • Build and maintain dashboards and performance reports for paid search KPIs • Surface insights and recommend structural or strategic changes backed by data • Stay current on platform updates and evaluate their impact on account strategy QUALIFICATIONS MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE • 3+ years managing paid search campaigns on Google Ads • Personally owned budgets of $500K+/month with direct accountability for CPA / ROAS targets • Built and maintained keyword systems at scale — segmentation, expansion frameworks, and negative structures across tens of thousands of keywords • Hands-on experience with Smart Bidding, Performance Max, and manual bidding strategies • Uses AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) actively in daily workflow — data analysis, automation, copy generation and testing — not just aware of them • Has built processes from scratch: SOPs, review cycles, and quality systems that run without you • Working proficiency in English (B2+) NICE TO HAVE • Microsoft Advertising (Bing) experience • Background in web products or mobile apps; subscription (D2C) is a strong plus WHO YOU ARE • Fast, sharp thinker — you separate signal from noise and instantly see which number in a report actually matters • Analytical — every decision is backed by a period, a threshold, and a dollar amount • Full owner of your zone — from diagnosis to result, no reminders needed • Ambitious — you want to grow fast and prove it with performance LOCATION Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Confirmo is a stablecoin payment infrastructure trusted by market leaders. Founded over a decade ago by crypto natives, we're one of the first crypto payment processors in the world and have built one of the most established infrastructures in the industry. Over the past 4 years, we have been growing exponentially (130+%) and expanding across the U.S., Middle East, and Europe. As part of our continued growth, we are now expanding our sales team in Ireland. Our regulatory standing is central to the trust we’ve developed. In 2025, Confirmo Limited (part of the Confirmo Group) was authorised under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework by the Central Bank of Ireland as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider. In March 2026, Confirmo Limited was further authorised as a Payment Institution under the Payment Services Regulations 2018. This makes us one of the few dual-licensed companies in the European market, and we see our regulatory strength as a commercial enabler. We're a 60+ person global team, and this is a rare opportunity to join an established, growing business in the stablecoin payment ecosystem as we expand our EU base from Ireland. Key Responsibilities: • Drive the full sales cycle - manage every stage of the sales process, from initial outreach and discovery through to close, delivering a consultative, high-quality buyer experience that reflects Confirmo's values and product positioning. • Contribute to Confirmo's EU expansion - serve as the company's first Ireland-based Account Executive, owning end-to-end pipeline generation through self-sourced outreach across the EU. • Build and own your pipeline - proactively identify and engage new business opportunities across key European verticals, leveraging dedicated AI tools and company training on AI BDR agents to develop a robust and self-generated pipeline. • Represent Confirmo across Europe - attend and actively contribute to EU focussed industry events, conferences, and networking forums, acting as the face of the brand and converting presence into qualified opportunities. • Collaborate cross-functionally - partner closely with both Confirmo Limited and Group teams, including marketing, product, and leadership to feed market intelligence back into the business, helping shape messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategy for the EU region. Your Profile: • 3+ years of full-cycle B2B sales experience - a proven track record of owning the entire sales process from discovery and qualification through negotiation and close, with consistent quota attainment. • Payments background is a plus - demonstrated experience selling into or working within payments, financial services, or the broader FinTech ecosystem is a plus • Understanding crypto and stablecoins is a plus • Self-sufficient pipeline builder - a history of operating as a hunter in a true outbound capacity, generating the majority of your own pipeline without relying on inbound leads or BDR support. • Entrepreneurial mindset - prior experience as an early or first sales hire at a startup or scale-up is highly desirable; comfortable building process and playbooks from scratch in fast-moving environments. • Language- fluency in English required. • Minimum Competency Code (MCC) - this role falls within the scope of the Central Bank of Ireland's Minimum Competency Code and its associated Continuing Professional Development requirements.
