Forward Deployed Engineer (100% Remote)

Remote ✓EN
G

The Basics We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (m/f/d) to join us as the embedded technical expert who takes our customers from "interested in AI" to running real agentic workflows in production. This is a hands-on, code-shipping role, not an advisory one. You'll work directly inside a customer's environment - understanding their domain, their data, and the business outcomes that matter to them - and build the agentic use cases (using MCPs, skills, and our agent platform) that make those outcomes real. You'll also bring a working understanding of Kubernetes, since our platform is built and operated on it, but that's the foundation you stand on, not the focus of the role. Giant Swarm is a fast-growing open-source infrastructure management platform used by modern enterprises. Our vision is to empower developers around the world to ship great products - this role is core to how we do that with our agent platform. Your Job • You partner directly with a customer as their embedded expert - not just advising, but designing, building, and shipping working agentic solutions in their environment. • You get up to speed on a new customer's domain quickly (e.g. smart manufacturing, financial services, whatever it is) and identify the business outcomes AI/agentic workflows can realistically deliver for them. • You design and build proof-of-concepts and production-track agentic workflows using MCPs, skills, and our agent platform, tailored to that customer's data and systems. • You act as the customer-side expert on what our agent platform can do - translating platform capability into something their engineers can actually use and extend. • You work closely with customer engineering teams - some devrel-style enablement, workshops, and pairing so they can own what you build after you move on. • You feed the patterns and gaps you find back to the product team, shaping what we build next. • You may support pre-sales conversations - helping scope what AI use cases would deliver value for a prospect, and building examples that help make the case for choosing Giant Swarm. Requirements • You have practical, hands-on experience in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, or similar). • You have real, hands-on experience building with agentic AI - MCPs, agent frameworks, tool-using LLMs, or similar. This is non-negotiable. • You can get productive in an unfamiliar business domain fast, and turn what you learn into concrete technical solutions. • You have at least a solid working understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native operations. • You communicate clearly and confidently with both customer stakeholders and engineers - this role lives at that interface. • Experience with developer relations, workshops, or technical enablement is a strong plus, as is prior Solutions Architect experience. • You're comfortable with ambiguity - this is our first hire fully dedicated to agentic customer work, so a lot of the "how" is still being defined as you go. • You are able to comfortably align parts of your workday with Europe (UTC +/- 2 hours). Salary Information We’re a fully remote company and use a formula-based salary calculator to determine starting salaries, factoring in location, experience, and responsibility. This approach helps us avoid pay gaps (e.g., gender pay gap) by basing compensation on objective criteria rather than negotiation. Because we apply a location factor, the actual figure for hires outside Cologne will differ from the reference range above, and the total package may include components beyond base salary (e.g., equity, benefits). We’re publishing this range to comply with the EU Pay Transparency Directive. Your recruiter will walk you through how the calculator applies to your location and level. Salary Range: €70,000 - €100,000

Team Lead (Java)

Remote ✓EN
C

Brief job description We are a product company – we build and continuously develop our own Master Data Management platform. This gives us a stable working environment and provides our people with a genuine opportunity to influence the shape and direction of the solutions we build. Instead of working on short-term projects for different clients, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a product over the long term and see the impact of your work. We are looking for an experienced Team Lead (Java) who combines strong people leadership skills with deep technical expertise. As a Team Lead, you will support and develop your team members while taking responsibility for the technical quality of the systems your team builds and operates. This is a broad and comprehensive role, made possible by the way our teams are structured: our Team Leads work with small, 3–5-person teams and have a very limited number of meetings. Apart from the daily, you mainly participate in meetings directly related to your team’s work and needs – typically around 2–3 hours per week in total. This allows you to spend most of your time working with your team, making technical decisions and supporting people’s development. We expect you to have a very good understanding of your team’s technology stack, the ability to organise and coordinate the team’s work, and confidence in making technical decisions. Your impact will extend beyond your own team, including collaboration with other teams to ensure that everyone remains focused on delivering value. The ideal candidate has a strong background in backend development using modern Java technologies, several years of professional experience, and experience mentoring, leading or coordinating engineers. We are looking for a team-oriented person who values collaboration, knowledge sharing and collective problem-solving. A genuine interest in data and databases will be a strong advantage.

Observability Platform Engineer — Neocloud

Remote ✓EN
M

About the Role Mirantis is building out our Neocloud service offering — managing large-scale infrastructure to a high SLA for customers running demanding compute workloads. As that offering scales, so does the volume and complexity of telemetry we need to collect, correlate, and act on. We're looking for an Observability Platform Engineer to design and build the monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting platform that our operations teams depend on to detect and resolve incidents fast — at large scale, across a globally distributed environment. This is a hands-on, build-it role. You'll be the person who turns "we have no visibility into this" into a platform that surfaces the right signal at the right time, and turns "we found out from the customer" into "we caught it before they noticed." Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and operate observability platform components — metrics, logging, distributed tracing, and alerting — for large-scale infrastructure environments • Build telemetry pipelines capable of handling high cardinality, high volume data from large fleets of infrastructure, with an eye on cost, retention, and query performance • Define and implement SLO/SLI frameworks and alerting strategies that reduce noise and surface real signal to on-call engineers • Partner closely with service delivery and operations teams to understand what they need to see during an incident, and build for that — not just for dashboards nobody opens • Integrate observability tooling with incident management workflows, including root-cause analysis support and post-incident review data • Continuously improve detection speed and reduce mean-time-to-detect (MTTD) and mean-time-to-resolve (MTTR) across the platform • Contribute to the roadmap for AI-assisted operations tooling (e.g., automated triage, anomaly detection, engineer-assist tooling) as it matures • Own the reliability, scalability, and security of the observability stack itself — it needs to be up when everything else is on fire • Document architecture, runbooks, and operational practices so the platform is maintainable beyond you What Success Looks Like • Operations teams can diagnose incidents faster because the right data is surfaced automatically, not hunted for manually • Alert volume is high-signal, low-noise — engineers trust what fires • The observability platform scales cleanly as infrastructure footprint grows, without cost or performance surprises • Reduced MTTD/MTTR trends, tracked and demonstrable over time • A platform other engineers actually want to build on, not work around • Proven experience designing and building observability platforms for large-scale, production infrastructure environments (not just consuming an existing setup — actually building one) • Strong hands-on experience with metrics, logging, and distributed tracing tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki, Thanos/Cortex/Mimir, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Jaeger/Tempo, or equivalents) • Experience with high-volume telemetry pipelines and the tradeoffs involved (cardinality, retention, cost, query latency) • Strong software engineering skills in at least one language commonly used in this space (e.g., Go, Python, Rust) • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure • Solid understanding of SLO/SLI/error-budget practices and alerting design that minimizes noise • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where the platform is being built out alongside the infrastructure it's monitoring • Strong communication skills — able to work directly with operations/service delivery teams to understand real incident-response needs, not just technical specs Preferred Skills & Experience • Experience building observability for GPU/HPC infrastructure or other specialized, high-performance compute environments • Experience with eBPF-based observability tooling • Familiarity with AIOps/ML-based anomaly detection or automated triage systems • Experience operating in a managed services or MSP context, where observability directly drives customer-facing SLAs • Contributions to open-source observability projects What does Mirantis offer you? • Work with an established Silicon Valley leader in the cloud infrastructure industry; - Work with exceptionally passionate, talented and engaging colleagues, helping Fortune 500 and Global 2000 customers implement next-generation cloud technologies; - Be a part of cutting-edge, open-source innovation; - Thrive in the high-energy environment of a young company where openness, collaboration, risk-taking, and continuous growth are valued; - Professional development and training; • Attend conferences and working groups; - Company outings, happy hours, hackathons, and tech talks; - Receive a competitive compensation package with a strong benefits plan. It is understood that Mirantis, Inc. may use automated decision-making technology (ADMT) for specific employment-related decisions. …

Lead Product Manager, Customer Portal

Remote ✓EN
V

About Customer Portal Customer Portal exists to make Veriff's product sell itself. The Portal serves two purposes. It allows our customers to operate Veriff products — setting up and configuring products, consulting verification session details, reporting issues. And it is a privileged surface for customers to discover, try, buy and expand through a seamless self-serve experience, connecting product usage, onboarding and growth in one place. It unites forces with GTM to automate acquisition, upsell, cross-sell and retention, with end-to-end ownership of the customer persona. The area is evolving fast. What began as a self-serve growth surface (Station) is becoming the customer-facing window into Veriff's accuracy and fraud advantage for our largest enterprise customers. The shape of this role This is an IC-first leadership role, and the first genuine step into product leadership — distinct from a strong senior IC. At first you will lead through craft, authority and influence. You own the strategy, discovery, roadmap and delivery for your product area. As you refine the strategic themes for this large product, we expect you to propose the team configuration needed to support our growth and company objectives. That will move you progressively from IC to manager, while retaining hands-on ownership of at least one part of the Customer Portal area in the mid-term. We will deliberately assess for both the IC craft bar and the latent management capability, because the role is designed to traverse the line. What you will do • Own the product strategy and roadmap for the Customer Portal area, tied explicitly to Veriff's commercial model and revenue drivers. • Run disciplined, continuous discovery with customers, and translate it into well-defined problem statements and a sequenced roadmap. • Make transparent prioritisation and trade-off calls across product ambition, technical sustainability and business urgency — especially where capability gaps mean we cannot do everything at once. • Define success metrics before building, and hold the team accountable to outcomes, not output. • Partner as a credible peer to Engineering, GTM, Fraud Ops and Design. Be the connective tissue that turns internal expertise into a customer-facing product. • Own launch as a discipline from the start — internal platform releases and external GTM — not a milestone at the end. • Set and uphold the product-craft bar. Mentor PMs and, in time, build and lead the team. • Champion AI internally, implementing new best practices for faster product discovery and delivery. Who you are You are a product leader who has earned authority through the quality of your thinking rather than a title. You have owned a product area end-to-end • From strategy through discovery, delivery and launch. You are equally comfortable in the messy front end of a problem and in the discipline of shipping. • You are looking for the step where your impact starts to come through others, and you are excited that this role begins as an individual leader and grows into managing a team — not the other way around. You think commercially • You instinctively connect what you build to how the business grows, and you explain the “why” behind a product bet in terms of revenue, retention and customer trust, not just features and flows. You run discovery as a continuous discipline • You get close to customers, including demanding enterprise accounts, and you can tell the difference between what they ask for and what they actually need. • You turn that into sharp problem statements and a phased roadmap where every step delivers a real customer outcome. You prioritise ruthlessly and transparently • When there are more good ideas than capacity, you make the hard calls about what not to do, and you can articulate the reasoning. • You define success before you build. When something goes wrong, you own it without deflection and change how you work as a result. You lead through influence, not authority • You build credibility with engineering, go-to-market, design and operations partners as a genuine peer, and you reach good decisions with people who do not report to you. • You stay calm under uncertainty, create space for views that differ from your own, and commit gracefully once a call is made. You raise the people around you • You set a high craft bar through your own work, share your thinking generously and give specific, useful feedback. • You are motivated by building and leading a team over time, with a realistic understanding that management is a different job — one focused on developing people and multiplying impact, not doing all the work yourself. You stay current on your craft • You take pride in tracking how product management is evolving, and you consistently find time to experiment and fold what works into your practice. Why Veriff? We are the preferred identity verification platform partner for the world’s most innovative growth-driven …

Founding Engineer

Remote ✓EN
S

Your mission Cara is SocialTalent's AI-powered product for enterprise talent teams. She's already live with customers, and we're looking for a Founding Engineer to lead the next stage of how we build and scale her. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who wants more than ownership of a codebase. You'll work directly with our CTPO, and have the freedom to shape Cara's architecture, engineering approach and ultimately the team around it. We believe AI is changing not only what software can do, but how great software teams should work. We're looking for someone who wants to help prove that. What you'll do • Own Cara's technical architecture and direction as the product scales. • Build and ship — this is a hands-on engineering role as well as a leadership one. • Shape how we use AI across software development, from agents and automation to evaluation, review and quality. • Create the tooling and ways of working that allow a small, senior team to deliver exceptional output. • Work closely across product, customer and engineering decisions. • Build to an enterprise standard across reliability, security, GDPR, data residency and our SOC 2, ISO 27001 and EU AI Act readiness. • Help shape and lead the engineering team as Cara grows. Your profile We're less interested in your current title than in what you've built and owned. You might be a Staff or Principal Engineer, Founding Engineer, Lead Engineer, Product Engineer, technical founder or leading engineering in a smaller technology company. You'll likely have: • Strong software engineering and architecture experience, with meaningful ownership of production systems. • A track record of building and shipping products, ideally in startup, scale-up or 01 environments. • Practical experience using AI to materially change how you build software — not simply using a coding assistant. • Evidence of creating engineering leverage through tooling, automation, platforms or better ways of working. • Strong product judgment and an instinct for the customer problem as well as the technical one. • Experience building serious production software, ideally enterprise B2B SaaS. • The technical credibility and leadership skills to set standards and bring others with you while remaining close to the work. Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, enterprise security or regulated AI environments would be an advantage. Machine-learning research experience isn't required. Cara uses existing models; we don't train them. Why us? You'll be joining at an unusual point: the product is real, the customers are real, but many of the most important engineering decisions are still ahead of us. SocialTalent is an established Irish technology company with 15 years behind it and secured multi-year Enterprise Ireland RD&I funding behind Cara. We want to keep the engineering team deliberately small, senior and highly leveraged by AI. So we're not looking for someone whose ambition is to build the biggest team. We're looking for someone who wants to build a better way of engineering. Location and Package This is a remote role within Ireland, with periodic in-person company days. You must be based in Ireland with the right to work here. We offer a senior-level package including: • €130,000 base salary • Bonus - 20% • 10% company-funded flexible benefits (Health and/or Pension) • Matched employer pension contribution up to 10% • 33 days holidays per year • 35 hour week supporting flexibility and work/life balance • Remote working with attendance to office for company/team based activity • Illness benefit at 75% • Monthly Mobile phone allowance

Verantwortungsbereich:

• Own Cara's technical architecture and direction as the product scales. • Build and ship — this is a hands-on engineering role as well as a leadership one.

Learn more about our division, areas, and cross-functional teams here ! Aufgaben Your tasks – this is what awaits you in detail • You run and own our self-hosted Apache Kafka backbone and Schema Registry end-to-end, managing ACLs, client quotas, certificates, upgrades, and disaster recovery • You operate our Debezium-based change data capture pipelines, overseeing connectors, snapshots, offsets, replica lag, and BigQuery sink loaders • You run our workloads on Kubernetes, including Navarch - our self-built workflow orchestrator executing ~7,500 SQL and Python tasks daily - owning resource management, autoscaling, and debugging • You automate and own access management and infrastructure as code across our self-hosted GitLab CI/CD pipelines, replacing manual tickets with code-driven policies • You own observability and infra costs - Datadog across Kafka and sink loaders, Slack-native alerting, and maintaining an honest view of K8s, Kafka retention, and log volume expenses • You carry your share of triage, one week in three - handling ingestion and access requests, schema alerts, and supporting analysts, while helping automate this layer via AI-assisted review • You act as a senior sparring partner alongside two senior data engineers (reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics) - driving design reviews and multi-quarter initiatives, with room to grow into BigQuery architecture over time: access frameworks, partitioning and slot strategy, the pipelines and models on top • Optional: You take part in our 24/7 on-call rotation Profil Your profile – this is what we expect from you • You have several years of experience operating production infrastructure you were personally responsible for, including on-call rotation. You have run systems that broke, can explain what went wrong and how you permanently fixed it, and can detail a specific trade-off you navigated backed by concrete numbers • You have deep hands-on expertise in Apache Kafka broker operations, including cluster sizing, partition rebalancing, replication, ISR behavior, and version upgrades • You have operated cross-system data replication in production - ideally Debezium on Kafka Connect, or database replication via binlog, GTID, WAL, or agent-based pipelines • You demonstrate strong production experience with Kubernetes, master resource management and autoscaling, and possess sharp debugging reflexes for complex failure modes • You manage infrastructure and access as code across multiple environments (ideally Terraform and Ansible; Pulumi, Helm or serious configuration management also counts) following a strict least-privilege IAM approach across multiple environments, ideally with GCP experience or transferable AWS/Azure knowledge • You use production-grade Python and SQL as practical tools, applying a cost-conscious mindset to query performance, scanning volume, and data pruning • You thrive in a low-process, Kanban-driven environment where seniors self-organize, rotate weekly triage duties without micro-management, and prefer automating recurring requests over manually repeating them • Optional: You bring skills or interest in object-oriented design, data modeling/dbt, BigQuery architecture, orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Dagster), stream processing (Beam, Flink, Spark), or internal automation (n8n, AI triage bots). • You are fluent in English (C1 level) and enjoy working in an international team environment Benefits What we offer • Create your own work-life balance: You have the flexibility to choose between working remotely (within Germany) or from one of our locations in Cologne, Darmstadt, Düsseldorf, or in Berlin! • Do you want to move to Germany? No problem – we offer you an attractive relocation package to give you a smooth start. • Urban Sports Club and RSG Group Fitness Studios: Get top deals for fitness, swimming, yoga and more • Mental Well-Being: We support you on your well-being journey with special offerings such as Instahelp, the digital platform for online psychological counseling • Vacation & Sabbatical: Enjoy 30 days of vacation per year and the opportunity to take a sabbatical once you have been part of the team for a …
