Research Intern, ClickHouse Labs

Remote ✓EN
C

PROGRAM OVERVIEW The ClickHouse PhD Research Internship Program offers doctoral students the opportunity to pursue ambitious research alongside ClickHouse Labs researchers and engineers working on some of the most interesting challenges in databases, systems, and data infrastructure. Research interns join ClickHouse Labs for approximately 10-12 weeks to explore meaningful research questions, develop new ideas, and investigate technologies that have the potential to advance both the broader research community and the future of ClickHouse. The program is intentionally designed around research collaboration. Interns are paired with experienced researchers and have the opportunity to pursue work that aligns with their academic interests, ongoing research, and areas of interest within ClickHouse Labs. In some cases, an internship may build on research, a prototype, or a system the student has already begun exploring at their university. We believe the strongest research relationships extend beyond a single summer. Interns may continue their work after returning to their university through academic research, open-source contributions, publications, or other forms of collaboration. Where there is a strong mutual fit, an internship may become the beginning of a longer-term relationship between the researcher, ClickHouse Labs, and the broader academic community. During their internship, researchers will have the opportunity to work closely with ClickHouse Labs, engage with ClickHouse's open-source technology and engineering community, share their findings, and contribute to the intellectual life of the broader research community. Program length: 10-12 weeks, with flexibility based on academic calendars and research needs Typical timing: Summer, beginning approximately June 1 Locations: Opportunities available across the US and Europe, subject to role and employment requirements. Remote first. Research environment: ClickHouse Labs Internship format: Research-focused, mentor-supported, and shaped around areas of mutual research interest Compensation: commensurate with experience, a monthly stipend will be paid RESEARCH AT CLICKHOUSE LABS ClickHouse Labs explores ambitious ideas at the intersection of databases, distributed systems, data infrastructure, and the broader systems research community. We believe some of the most interesting advances in these areas happen through close collaboration between industry and academia. ClickHouse Labs brings together researchers and engineers to explore new ideas, investigate challenging technical problems, and connect academic research with real-world systems at scale. Research interns are an important part of that community. Interns have the opportunity to bring their own research interests and perspectives into ClickHouse Labs while working alongside researchers and engineers who are deeply engaged with both the practical challenges and open research questions shaping the future of data systems. PROGRAM GOALS 1. Identify exceptional PhD researchers working in areas directly relevant to ClickHouse. 2. Give researchers the opportunity to work on meaningful, open-ended problems with ClickHouse Labs. 3. Build long-term relationships with researchers and academic institutions. 4. Encourage continued research and open-source contributions after the internship. 5. Create opportunities for co-authored papers, thesis advising, or other academic collaboration. 6. Increase ClickHouse's visibility within the database and systems research community. 7. Publish and share meaningful research outcomes through the ClickHouse website and other appropriate channels. WHAT MAKES THE PROGRAM DIFFERENT This is intentionally not a highly structured engineering internship and should not detailed planning. ****But the high-level problem area and expectations should defined several months before the internship begins. This flexibility is intentional and allows ClickHouse Labs to respond to: • Emerging research questions • Current ClickHouse priorities • New academic research • Interesting systems or database prototypes • Work candidates have already completed • Opportunities to apply new research ideas to ClickHouse The goal is to identify researchers whose work is already closely aligned with areas ClickHouse cares about and then determine the most valuable research problem to pursue together. CANDIDATE PROFILE We are looking for exceptional PhD students conducting research directly relevant to ClickHouse and the broader database/systems space. IDEAL CANDIDATES • Currently pursuing a PhD in computer science or a closely related field • Conducting research in areas relevant to ClickHouse • Demonstrated research excellence • Strong database systems, distributed systems, hardware, or related technical background • Has demonstrated ability to independently pursue complex research questions • Ideally has prior experience with …

Engineering Manager - Control Plane Platform Engineer

Remote ✓EN
C

About the team The Control Plane Platform team is building the shared foundation that every product in ClickHouse Cloud is built and shipped on. We give ClickHouse engineering teams one place to own and deploy their product, remove the overhead of rebuilding common plumbing, and keep the customer experience consistent as the number of integrating teams grows. The team owns API gateways and API standards, shared platform services, deployment and infrastructure patterns, testing and CI, local developer experience and Control Plane observability. About the role We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform team. This is a high-impact, high-trust role at the center of our Cloud product, combining people leadership, technical direction, product thinking, and operational ownership while maintaining the reliability customers expect. You’ll work hand-in-hand with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Support, and engineering teams across ClickHouse. This role goes beyond engineering leadership. Together with your team, you’ll help shape how new products and teams will integrate and deploy their applications in ClickHouse Cloud. What You’ll Do • Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team - recruit to a high bar, set crisp expectations, give direct feedback and career development, and manage performance — while fostering a healthy, inclusive environment built on empathy, psychological safety, trust, and a high technical bar. • Own outcomes across the platform surface: API gateways and API standards, shared platform services (event bus, notifications, feature flags, websockets, audit records), deployment and infrastructure patterns, CI and testing, local developer experience, disaster recovery, and Control Plane observability. • Treat the integrating teams as your customers and measure success by their delivery velocity and adoption of the platform, not only by what your team ships. • Guide architecture and help senior engineers make explicit, sound tradeoffs. land cross-cutting migrations, deprecations, and contract changes across teams without stalling product delivery. • Jump into designs and code for complex areas - gateway routing and auth/RBAC enforcement, spec-driven code generation, event delivery semantics and idempotency, multi-region rollout safety. • Build the culture of operational excellence: Own SLOs, reliability, on-call quality, and cost-efficiency for k8s-hosted, multi-tenant services across cloud regions. • Systematize support, reduce toil, and build self-serve/auto-healing capabilities - golden-path templates and generators, auto-healing, and documentation that gets a new team integrated in days rather than weeks. • Shape the platform vision, turn it into a roadmap, sequence bets for business impact, and ship fast with tight feedback loops — including writing the RFCs that build cross-org consensus before big changes land What you bring • 8+ years in software engineering and 3+ years managing software engineers with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong talent. • Experience leading a platform or infrastructure team whose customers are other engineering teams — you've driven adoption and cross-org migrations through influence and good tooling rather than mandate. • Experience leading distributed global teams, fostering an inclusive and autonomous culture, and creating clarity across time zones. • Experience building scalable, highly available, and secure cloud-based infrastructure in AWS (EKS, SQS, DocumentDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, Lambdas) with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm) and progressive delivery (Argo Rollouts or similar). • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), including patterns for hosting many independently deployed applications in a shared cluster. • Familiarity with API platform work: OpenAPI-driven contracts, API gateways, and the shared concerns they centralize — authentication, RBAC, rate limiting, versioning, and deprecation. • A track record of decomposing a monolith into independently deployable services without stalling product delivery. • Technical credibility to engage deeply in architecture and incidents without owning daily implementation. • Hands-on: you still enjoy diving into code/designs for complex or critical areas, reviewing code, and guiding via feedback. • Strong execution judgment across ambiguity, parallel workstreams, risk, and long-term system health. Nice to have • Experience with large TypeScript/Node monorepos and the developer-experience problems that come with them: CI scale and flakiness, build and test times, local development environments, and code generation from specs. • Designed and implemented strategies for load balancing, auto-scaling, disaster recovery, and failover for cloud environments. • Experience building CI/CD at scale • Experience with internal developer platforms: service catalogs, golden-path templates, and …

Langfuse - Product Manager

Remote ✓EN
C

Langfuse is hiring its first Product Manager. You will work with the founders to define the product vision and set the strategic direction. You will also work with Solution Architects, sales, and marketing. Your input will help shape product decisions. Engineers at Langfuse own delivery from start to finish. They help find solutions and turn them into technical requirements. They implement and launch the work. They support each launch with documentation and changelogs. They also speak directly with customers to receive feedback on features and educate the roadmap. The whole company helps shape the quarterly roadmap. The engineering team then delivers it. As Product Manager, you will look beyond the current quarter. You will build a deep understanding of our market and emerging trends. You will also study how engineers use AI to build agentic applications. You will use these insights to create clear product artifacts. They will define the user problems we want to solve and how we want to solve them. WHAT YOU WILL DO AT LANGFUSE: • Shape the product direction and translate long-term opportunities into clear priorities. • Turn customer, community, and market insights into decisions about what to build and what not to build. • Lead new product areas from research and scoping through launch. • Work closely with founders, engineers, designers on APIs, SDKs, infrastructure, UX, and documentation. • Align founders, engineering, sales, marketing, and key customers without introducing unnecessary processes. • Make the product-engineering team more effective through clear context, strong judgment, and concise written briefs. • You will own the quarterly roadmapping process and propose in which direction we should develop Langfuse. WHAT YOU WILL NOT DO: • Project Management for engineers. Everyone here can organize themselves, you do not need to do this. • Slice large projects into Linear tickets. Single engineers execute on large projects in Langfuse. • Communicate between customers and engineers. Engineers talk to customers daily. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: • An experienced PM from developer tools, observability, infrastructure, data, or a similarly technical product. • Technical enough to reason credibly about APIs, SDKs, architecture, and UX tradeoffs. • You are hands-on: you test products, you talk to users, you maybe build a small prototype. • Strong strategic thinking, prioritization, and product taste. • Comfortable with ambiguity, autonomy, and a fast-moving environment. • Pragmatic, calm, organized, and focused on shipping. • Excellent written and spoken communication. • Deeply interested in AI and already using AI tools extensively. • Experience with open source, enterprise software, or major platform shifts is a plus. PERKS • Flexible work environment - ClickHouse is a globally distributed company and remote-friendly. We currently operate in over 25 countries. • Healthcare - Employer contributions towards your healthcare. • Equity in the company - Every new team member who joins our company receives stock options. • Time off - Flexible time off in the US, generous entitlement in other countries. • A USD$500 Home office setup if you’re a remote employee. • Global Gatherings – We believe in the power of in-person connection and offer opportunities to engage with colleagues at company-wide offsites. Recognized on the 2025 Forbes Cloud 100 list https://www.forbes.com/companies/clickhouse/?list=cloud100, ClickHouse is one of the most innovative and fast-growing private cloud companies. With more than 4,000 customers and $250M ARR https://clickhouse.com/blog/clickhouse-tops-250m-arr-and-4000-customers, ClickHouse leads the market in real-time analytics, data warehousing, observability, and AI workloads. The company's sustained, accelerating momentum was recently validated by a $400M Series D financing round https://clickhouse.com/blog/clickhouse-raises-400-million-series-d-acquires-langfuse-launches-postgres. Over the past three months, customers including Capital One, Lovable, Decagon, Polymarket, and Airwallex have adopted the platform or expanded existing deployments. These customers join an established base of AI innovators and global brands such as Meta, Cursor, Sony, and Tesla. We're on a mission to transform how companies use data. Come be a part of our journey! We're hiring a Product Manager to own partner integrations at ClickHouse. This role owns how ClickHouse shows up inside the platforms our customers already use: embedded, native experiences across the hyperscalers and developer platforms, and deeper technical integrations with strategic partners like dbt, Fivetran, Hex, and Sigma. There is a growing surface of partner work already in motion, and this role shapes where we invest in co-innovation opportunities. This is one of the most cross-functional roles at ClickHouse. You'll work across multiple engineering teams, our partnerships and solutions teams, and the partners themselves to deliver meaningful co-innovation and integrations with complementary technologies. You'll own the technical side of our House Mates partner program and be the person who navigates the multi-org reality of getting an integration certified, listed, and live. This is a hands-on role: you'll write the specs, run the partner calls, drive certification processes, and coordinate across teams to get things over the line. YOU WILL • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for ClickHouse's Cloud integrations with strategic partners • Seek out complementary innovation opportunities with partners. Define what a "better together" integration looks like with each strategic partner, and drive it from joint roadmap through launch. • Navigate the trade-offs of embedded integrations: billing and metering, identity and auth, security and data residency, and coordination across ClickHouse and partner teams. • Project-manage complex, multi-org launches: marketplace listings, certification processes, partner co-marketing, and GA timelines across multiple organizations. • Own the technical standards and certification criteria for integrations submitted through the House Mates partner program. • Measure and communicate co-innovation business impact, adoption and product strategy to executive leadership. • Represent ClickHouse externally at partner events and in joint content. YOU BRING • Experience shipping integrations into third-party platforms before: hyperscaler marketplaces, embedded or native integrations, ISV partnerships, or OEM/white-label work. • An understanding of the trade-offs that make or break a partner integration, billing, auth, security, cross-team dependencies, and have made those decisions in the past. • A strong project management lens and are comfortable owning a launch that depends on five teams across two companies. • Patience and resilience with partners who are unresponsive or have their own competing priorities, and you find creative ways to keep things moving anyway. • Technical ability to understand an integration end to end, from provisioning and auth to billing and data flow, and to hold a credible conversation with engineers about APIs, architecture, and technical trade-offs. • Energy and excitement for external-facing work: partner calls, customer conversations, and representing the product publicly. • Hands-on and high ownership ability. You write the specs, run the partner calls, and stay close to the details. • Comfort in ambiguity and fast-moving environments. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Hands-on experience building partner integrations with hyperscalers and modern technology companies. • Experience running or supporting a technology partner program. • Background at a database or data infrastructure company; familiarity with ClickHouse or peers like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks. • Experience working in remote, multi-timezone environments. • …

By combining deep business partnership, organizational insight, and proactive People strategy, this role will help shape how the EMEA organization evolves—not simply respond to the needs of the business as they arise. This role is responsible for deeply understanding the business, its growth strategy, and the unique dynamics across EMEA, and translating that understanding into proactive People and organizational strategy. You will help leaders anticipate needs, spot risks and opportunities, and build the teams, leadership capability, and practices required to scale. In this role, you will help leaders anticipate organizational needs and identify risks and opportunities, while enabling them with the leadership capability and people practices needed to scale their teams successfully. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, organizational judgment, and the ability to move beyond responding to leadership requests to independently identifying what the business needs. Because EMEA is a diverse and complex region, this person must be able to understand the different business and market dynamics across countries while maintaining a cohesive view of the region and its long-term organizational needs. WHAT YOU’LL DO Strategic People & Business Partnership • Serve as the primary People partner to our managers and leaders based in EMEA, deeply understanding their growth strategy, operating model, and organizational dynamics. • Translate business priorities into proactive People and organizational strategies, bringing an independent point of view and identifying risks and opportunities early. • Partner with leaders on complex organizational decisions and ensure People is embedded early in business planning. People Strategy & Program Leadership • Partner with global People teams to adapt programs for regional needs and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement. • Drive adoption and effectiveness of People initiatives, bringing regional insights back to the global People organization. Global Partnership & Influence • Serve as the strategic People partner to leaders navigating complex employee and organizational situations across EMEA. • Partner with People Operations and Legal to navigate performance, conduct, organizational change, and other complex people matters. • Identify patterns and proactively address broader organizational or leadership issues. • Bridge EMEA leadership and the global People organization, ensuring regional needs inform company-wide People strategy. • Partner across People, Finance, Recruiting, Compensation, Legal, and other functions to align organizational and talent priorities with business needs. • Influence across geographies and functions in a global, distributed environment. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • Significant experience in senior HR Business Partner or People leadership roles, ideally supporting complex, high-growth businesses across EMEA. • Demonstrated ability to develop a deep understanding of a business and translate business strategy into proactive People and organizational strategy. • Strong experience in organizational design, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, and leadership partnership. • Proven ability to influence senior business leaders and bring an independent, well-informed point of view to complex decisions. • Demonstrated pattern recognition and judgment, with the ability to identify organizational risks and opportunities before they become visible problems. • Experience developing or adapting People programs to meet business needs and driving adoption and measurable outcomes. • Strong business acumen and curiosity, with a genuine interest in understanding how the business operates and what drives success. • Experience working across global and distributed organizations, ideally with exposure to the complexity and diversity of EMEA markets. • Strong relationship-building and influence skills across cultures, functions, and geographies. • Comfortable operating independently in ambiguity and creating direction within their scope rather than waiting for direction.
