Hands-on CTO — AI-First Engineering
À distance ✓ENLocation: Remote, global Engagement: Full-time, B2B contract Working language: English Compensation: $10,000–$15,000 per month, depending on experience Candidates based in sanctioned jurisdictions cannot be considered. About our client Our client is a profitable, self-funded B2C subscription SaaS company operating primarily in the US market. Founded in France, the company has evolved from a browser-based product into a high-scale mobile subscription business generating approximately $1M in monthly revenue. The company operates with a lean, high-performance structure. The team is highly execution-focused, actively adopts AI across its operations, and maintains a strong focus on monetization, product performance, and unit economics. The product ecosystem includes a mobile application and a web platform, supported by a shared backend and cloud infrastructure. The company is now looking for a hands-on CTO to take ownership of the engineering function and lead its transition towards an AI-first development model. The role This is not a traditional CTO position centred primarily on meetings, people management, and organisational processes. Our client is looking for a senior technical leader who remains close to the code, can independently assess architecture and engineering quality, and has practical experience using AI coding tools and agents throughout the software development lifecycle. The product is currently developed and maintained by a long-term external engineering partner. The new CTO will initially take technical ownership of the existing mobile application, web platform, backend, and infrastructure while overseeing the agency and evaluating how the engineering model should evolve. The future setup has not been predetermined. It may include the CTO working with AI agents, a small internal engineering team, selected developers from the current agency, or a combination of these models. The CTO will assess the existing setup and build an engineering model that is efficient, reliable, and appropriate for the company’s stage and product needs. Key responsibilities • Take end-to-end technical ownership of the mobile application, web platform, backend services, and infrastructure. • Review the existing architecture, codebase, engineering processes, and technical risks. • Design and implement an AI-first software development workflow. • Introduce effective practices for AI-assisted development, code review, automated testing, documentation, and quality control. • Ensure that AI-generated and AI-assisted code meets production standards for maintainability, security, reliability, and performance. • Manage the relationship with the current outsourced engineering agency. • Help the agency adapt to the new development model or recommend a different team structure where necessary. • Define the appropriate balance between AI agents, internal engineers, and external development partners. • Improve automated test coverage and release confidence. • Establish engineering standards, technical governance, and automated quality gates. • Ensure predictable deployments, production stability, monitoring, and incident prevention. • Contribute directly to architecture, technical problem-solving, code review, and implementation when required. Current technology stack Mobile application • React Native • React 19 • TypeScript and JavaScript • Native iOS and Android build pipelines • Firebase and analytics integrations • Sentry • Jest Automated test coverage currently exists but requires significant improvement. Web platform The company also operates a web-based product that will be part of the CTO’s technical ownership. Detailed information about the current web frontend stack will be shared during the hiring process. Backend • Node.js • NestJS • TypeScript • REST APIs • RabbitMQ and message-based service communication • PostgreSQL • Redis • Bull and background job queues • Stripe integrations • Google Cloud Storage • External APIs Infrastructure and DevOps • Google Cloud Platform • Kubernetes • Helm • ArgoCD-style deployment flow • GitHub Actions • Docker • Container registry • Separate staging and production environments What we are looking for • Strong experience as a hands-on CTO, Head of Engineering, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Engineering Lead, or senior Technical Lead. • A strong software engineering background and the ability to review production code and architecture in depth. • Recent hands-on involvement in software development, architecture, or technical delivery. • Practical and systematic experience with AI-assisted software development and coding agents. • A clear understanding of where AI can increase engineering productivity and where human review and technical controls remain essential. • Experience building or operating web, mobile, or subscription-based products. • Familiarity with …

Senior Product Engineer (Fullstack)
À distance ✓ENAbout Clipster Clipster is where brands and creators connect to turn views into profits. Clippers (Creators) clip, remix, and post branded content on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X, and beyond — earning money for every view they deliver. Brands get a significantly better influencer marketing experience thanks to scale, simplicity, and reliable performance tracking. We started as an influencer marketing agency. While clients loved our results, delivering them was a pain. So we started automating everything we did — and it paid off. 2025 was a great year for us: • We launched our platform in early 2025 • We grew our team to 35 members • We scaled from 0 to more than 100,000 creators and paid out more than $5M to them • We acquired more than 120 clients solely through word of mouth. Our growth has been 100% organic • We ran campaigns for companies such as Telegram, UFC, Universal Music Group and artists such as Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Playboi Carti, and Kendrick Lamar • We're profitable and have secured our first investor The role We are looking for a Backend-Heavy Senior Engineer who isn't afraid to touch the full stack. While your primary domain will be our Golang services and distributed architecture, you are a "Product Engineer" at heart — meaning you understand the "why" behind the code and can jump into the React/Next.js frontend whenever it's the shortest path to delivering value. The mindset we hire for • Intensity & Grit — You run toward hard problems and stay until they are solved. • Ambitious Simplification — You have the intelligence to solve complex problems and the wisdom to choose the simplest solution. • Ownership & Mission Alignment — You don't "close tickets"; you ship outcomes. You care about the creator economy as much as we do. • AI Readiness — You leverage modern tools to multiply your output and keep us at the cutting edge. • Humility & Collaboration — You are a high-bandwidth communicator who mentors others and leaves your ego at the door. Your technical toolkit • Core Backend — 5+ years of experience, with at least 3+ years of mastery in Golang. Comfortable with high-performance distributed systems. • Fullstack Versatility — Backend is your home, but you have the skills to navigate and contribute to a React/Next.js frontend. • Infrastructure & Data — Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and ideally GCP. • Architectural Mindset — You move seamlessly from system design to shipping production-ready code. Clean code, test coverage, and documentation are your tools for maintaining velocity. Bonus points • Experience with payment systems (we handle around $1M in monthly payouts). • Event-driven architectures and real-time data processing. Why Clipster • Total ownership - Join a lean tech team of fewer than 15 people. What you build today, millions will use tomorrow. • Remote & async - Work where you are most effective. We only ask for availability during our core hours (10am – 2pm UTC+2). • Zero bureaucracy - No endless meetings. We value documentation, Slack, and Loom for high-bandwidth, low-noise collaboration. Next steps • Discovery call - a brief chat with our recruiter. • Pair programming - a hands-on session with one of our engineers. • System design - a discussion about an architectural problem, based on our day-to-day problems. • Engineering excellence discussion. • Final meet - chat with our Founder and PM to talk mission and values.
