Senior Data Scientist - Personalization & Predictions

Remote ✓

Bloomreach is building the world’s premier agentic platform for personalization .We’re revolutionizing how businesses connect with their customers, building and deploying AI agents to personalize the entire customer journey. • We're taking autonomous search mainstream, making product discovery more intuitive and conversational for customers, and more profitable for businesses. • We’re making conversational shopping a reality, connecting every shopper with tailored guidance and product expertise — available on demand, at every touchpoint in their journey. • We're designing the future of autonomous marketing , taking the work out of workflows, and reclaiming the creative, strategic, and customer-first work marketers were always meant to do. And we're building all of that on the intelligence of a single AI engine — Loomi — so that personalization isn't only autonomous…it's also consistent. From retail to financial services, hospitality to gaming, businesses use Bloomreach to drive higher growth and lasting loyalty. We power personalization for more than 1,400 global brands, including American Eagle, Sonepar, and Pandora. You'd be joining the Artificial Intelligence team . We own the algorithmic core of the platform: Predictions, Contextual Personalization, contextual bandits, autosegmentation, and the agentic workflows behind Loomi. We work with behavioural data at terabyte scale, across 1,400+ customers, in production, every day. We are currently allowing flexibility for our employees to work from anywhere for the respective region (Central & Eastern Europe) or we are happy to meet you in our offices in Bratislava (Slovakia) or Brno, Prague (Czechia) on a full-time basis. The mission You find the signal in how 1,400 brands' customers actually behave — and you prove it moved a business metric. Your models decide which customers are predicted to churn, which segments form themselves, which offer a shopper sees, and whether the discount changed anything or was going to convert anyway. What you'll actually do • Frame the problem before modelling it. Most of our highest-impact work arrives as a vague business question, and turning it into something measurable is the first job. • Work the data at scale. Behavioural data, product catalogues and event streams across BigQuery and Databricks — finding features that carry real predictive signal, not the ones that are easy to compute. • Build and evaluate models across Predictions and Contextual Personalization: propensity and churn, contextual bandits, autosegmentation, uplift and incrementality. • Design the evaluation, not just the model. Offline metrics, backtests, and the A/B design that decides whether this ships. You own the question "how would we know if this is worse?" • Bring methods in from outside and judge them honestly — read the literature, run the quick PoC, and tell a real result from a well-marketed one. • Hand off cleanly to ML Engineering. You own the model and the evidence; they own making it survive production. That handoff is a document and a conversation, not a notebook over a wall. • Explain your results to people who aren't data scientists — Product, Engineering leadership, and sometimes customers. What success looks like after 12 months • Two models you built are in production and you can name the business metric each one moved. • A question the team was arguing about is settled, with evidence, and your writeup is what people link to. • ML Engineering describes your handoffs as easy. This role bends in three directions We'd rather shape it around you than the other way round. • Modelling & data science — features, experiments, and whether the number means anything. • ML product engineering — you own an ML-powered feature end to end and the ML part is what makes it interesting. • Platform & MLOps — pipelines, serving, deployment, observability, inference cost. Most people lean one way and dip into the others. This opening is centered on the first. If you'd rather own the serving path, latency and reliability, our our Senior AI/ML Engineer opening (in Czechia or Slovakia) is the better fit, and applying to both is fine. What you'll need • 5+ years building ML models that shipped and were used by someone other than you — in industry, not only in research or coursework. • Strong Python and genuinely strong SQL. You should be comfortable being handed a warehouse and finding your own way around it. • Solid grounding in classical ML — tree-based models, regression, classification, clustering — and the judgement to know when the simpler model is the right answer. • Real rigour on experiment design and evaluation. You know why a metric moved, and when it didn't move for the reason everyone assumes. • Comfort on a cloud data platform — we work in GCP (BigQuery) and Databricks, but the principles transfer. • A quantitative degree, or equivalent practical depth. • Working English, written and spoken. CX AI & Automation Lead

About Remote Remote is solving modern organizations’ biggest challenge – navigating global employment compliantly with ease. We make it possible for businesses of all sizes to recruit, pay, and manage international teams. With our core values at heart and future focused work culture, our team works tirelessly on ambitious problems, asynchronously, around the world. You can find Remoters working from 6 different continents (Antarctica left to go!) and all of our positions are fully remote. With Innovation as one of the core values, we have built Automation and AI capabilities into the requirements for every role. We encourage every member of the Remote team to bring their talents, experiences and culture to the table to help us build the best-in-class HR platform. If you are energetic, curious, motivated and ambitious, be part of our world. Apply now and define the future of work! What this job can offer you • This role is a core technical and programme lead position within CX Operations, working alongside CX leadership and cross-functional partners to build the automation and AI capabilities that shape how the team operates at scale. You will own delivery end to end. You will work closely with CX leadership as priorities are shaped, bringing technical and operational input to inform decisions, bring technical judgment and operational context to those conversations, and then lead the work from scoping through to production and iteration. You will bring technical judgment and operational context to scoping discussions, and work with significant autonomy within agreed priorities to see initiatives through from design to production, while working as part of a broader team, not in isolation. The combination this role asks for is not common: someone technically confident to build and ship, with the programme management skills to run complex cross-functional work, and the communication skills to make both sides legible to each other. If that combination describes you, this is a role where you will have real ownership, real impact, and real variety. How this role contributes to the department's and company's goals As Remote grows and the complexity of its customer base increases, CX has to maintain quality and responsiveness without being overwhelmed by volume or operational fragmentation. Automation and AI are central to how we do that, not by replacing good judgment, but by removing friction, surfacing the right information at the right moment, and giving specialists the tools to focus on work that actually requires a human. Beyond efficiency, this role is about empowering the CX team. The tooling and automation built here determine how well our specialists can do their jobs, how quickly customers get real resolution, and how effectively CX can absorb new products, new partners, and growing complexity. That impact is direct and measurable. What you bring • A manager of one : you identify what needs doing, set your own direction, and deliver without needing to be chased. You default to action and close your own loops. • Strong programme management alongside your technical ability. You can scope a complex initiative, manage stakeholders across functions, communicate clearly to non-technical audiences, and see it through from start to done, not just the build, the whole thing. • Hands-on experience building automation and integration systems in a CX, support, or operations context. You understand what a support workflow looks like from the inside: what slows agents down, what good resolution actually means, and what tooling helps versus what just looks good in a demo. • Technical confidence: you can build, read, and debug code; design and work with APIs, webhooks, and integration standards including MCP; and move fast using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor as part of your standard workflow. You take ownership of complex technical systems end to end, from design through to production. • Solid experience with low-code and no-code workflow platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, Retool, Gumloop, or similar, to design and run cross-system automations. • You know when automation is the right answer and when it is not. You evaluate the problem before reaching for a tool, and you are as comfortable making the case against automating something as you are building it. • Experience deploying AI agents or AI-assisted workflows in a production environment, including designing for failure, building in human oversight, and maintaining auditability. • The ability to translate between operational needs and technical constraints in both directions, clearly, without jargon, and with the right level of detail for whoever is in the room. • You document what you build. Not as an afterthought, as part of how you work. • Writes and speaks fluent English. • Experience working in a remote-first environment is a plus but not required. About nyra health At nyra health, we build software that helps people get their voice — and their lives — back after stroke, brain injury, and other neurological conditions. Recovery is one of the longest, hardest journeys in healthcare — and it doesn't end when patients leave the clinic. That's why we built two products that work side by side: myReha , the therapy app patients use daily, and nyra insights , the platform clinicians use to manage care. Today, 100+ clinics across Germany and Austria rely on us. Our therapy is reimbursed by insurance, and we've raised €20M in Series A to scale across DACH and beyond. We're a team of 35 in Vienna's First District — engineers, designers, clinicians, researchers, salespeople, and operators — working on the same problem from different angles. We roll up our sleeves, move fast, take craft seriously, and stay close to the patients and clinicians we serve. If that resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you. Software Engineer (Rust) - Backend

At Rerun, we're building a new multimodal data stack for physical AI. Large parts of the physical-world economy will be transformed by these technologies, and we're building the data infrastructure and tools that enable it to happen. Data volumes grow big quickly with these applications and performance matters everywhere; from micro interactions to high throughput jobs. With multimodal data stack we mean tools for extraction, ingestion, storage, querying, streaming, and visualization of temporal multimodal data. Rerun's open source project is already loved by some of the best teams in the world, and focuses on visualizing and handling multimodal logs. You'll join a newly formed team building out Rerun's commercial offering for ingesting, indexing and querying multimodal data at scale; a purpose-built analytical database that's already in private preview with signed customers and running at petabyte scale. WHAT YOU'LL DO • You will work on a cloud-native analytical database system built for multimodal (often time-series) data. • The system is built in Rust and makes extensive use of Apache Arrow. It supports specialized queries to handle robotics-style multimodal logs (very sparse and wide tables) and domain specific operators (e.g. related to 3D transforms). • Note: prior robotics knowledge is not necessary • You will help the system scale as usage grows, evolving the architecture, distributing work across nodes and systems, and tackling the bottlenecks that appear as load and data volumes increase. • You will design, implement and operate the core pieces that make this data-intensive system highly scalable, reliable and observable. WE'D LOVE IT IF YOU HAVE • 3-5 years with Rust, or a strong background in another systems language (C/C++) and real motivation to pick up Rust • Experience at a managed database product, data-platform, or high-traffic system operating at scale • Experience building backend systems in production, with a growing appetite for design and architecture ownership • Experience scaling a system as demand grows; evolving the architecture to handle much more load or data, not just making one component faster • Familiarity with distributed systems and their tradeoffs (coordination, consistency, failure modes, scaling across nodes) • Comfort with the layers between your code and the hardware; you don't need to be a database-internals specialist, but you enjoy digging in • Familiarity with concepts like filtering, indexing, or query execution • Good communication in English; you'll be in a close-knit remote team NICE-TO-HAVES • Exposure to Apache Arrow or Apache Datafusion • Cloud deployment experience (AWS/GCP/Azure), even in a supporting role • Interest in machine learning, robotics, AR/VR, or simulation • Experience with GPU workloads HOW WE WORK AT RERUN • This role is open to candidates based in Europe. • We're a remote company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with a growing hub in San Francisco. • We meet up in person for a week roughly once a quarter. • We're spread across European and US time zones. Rather than one fixed window, each team keeps a few hours of daily overlap that fits where its members are — for this team, that's a few hours of overlap in the afternoon CET. • We've put together an uncommonly talented tech team, value agency and helpfulness highly, and expect everyone to take broad responsibility for what they build. • We offer competitive cash and equity compensation, six weeks paid vacation, and whatever hardware and software you need to do your job. • Parental leave: 12 weeks full pay for every parent, alongside your local statutory leave entitlements. Most of all we hope you're excited to build some really cool technology that will have a real impact on the world with us! If you find that you don't fit neatly into this or any of the other open roles, we're not that rigid and are generally looking for great developers who can contribute to what we're building. Just go ahead and apply to the one you think is the closest and we'll take it from there!

Responsibilities:

• You will work on a cloud-native analytical database system built for multimodal (often time-series) data. • The system is built in Rust and makes extensive use of Apache Arrow.
