Want to be part of it? We bring together regional craftsmanship and scalable software: We don't think of solar, batteries, heat pumps, and e-mobility as isolated components, but control them as an intelligent, integrated overall system in our virtual power plant. Directly connected to the electricity market – in real time, fully automated. This way, energy is used when it is available from renewables and particularly cost-effective. By 2030, our goal is to transition 1.5 million households to renewable energies. Over 3,000 people are working towards this every day, at more than 80 locations worldwide, from Finland to Australia. Want to take responsibility and build solutions that truly matter? Apply now and help us shape the energy world of tomorrow. Learn more about our Product & Tech team! Deine Position As Product Manager Procurement & Portfolio Management, you take on one of the most strategically defining product roles within our energy retail business: you design how 1KOMMA5° procures, hedges, and optimizes electricity for an increasingly flexible customer portfolio. Develop a clear market split logic, and continuously refine it based on portfolio characteristics, customer mix, and market conditions. • Design Portfolio Hedging & Risk Management: Build hedging and risk management strategies tailored to different customer portfolios (dynamic vs fixed tariffs or flexibility/ancillary services). Define when and how we lock in volumes, what we leave open, and how we balance commercial upside against risk exposure. • Shape Our Flexibility Procurement Model: Design how we procure and steer our flexibility portfolio. Defining models such as flexibility bands, fixed volumes, strike-price-based offers, and the trade-offs between them. Develop the commercial logic and the operational requirements for each model. • Run Quantitative Portfolio Analysis: Independently run analyses on procurement performance, hedging effectiveness, and portfolio economics. Build the analytical foundation that supports strategic decisions, identifies optimization opportunities, and quantifies the impact of changes to our procurement and steering setup. • Monitor Performance and Drive Continuous Improvement: Define KPIs across procurement cost, hedge effectiveness, portfolio risk, and flexibility margin. Use data to continuously sharpen our market positioning and commercial performance. Dein Profil General: • 4+ years of experience in (international) energy procurement, portfolio management, or energy trading, ideally in a utility, energy retailer, trading desk, or aggregator environment • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience running portfolio analyses, hedge calculations, and market scenarios (Python, SQL, or comparable tools are a strong plus) • Proven ability to translate market and commercial logic into structured processes and product requirements • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving market environment • Excellent written and spoken English and German Market & Domain Expertise: • Deep understanding of European power markets - day-ahead, intraday, and forward markets - and the mechanisms that drive prices • Solid working knowledge of hedging instruments (futures, options, OTC), balancing markets, and BRP settlement • Familiarity with flexibility products and procurement models (flexibility bands, fixed volumes, strike-price offers) and their commercial trade-offs • Awareness of regulatory frameworks shaping energy retail (Marktkommunikationsprozesse, balancing regimes, market design developments) • Experience working with external procurement partners, ETRM systems, or trading platforms is a strong plus Benefits • You are part of an international, dynamic, and highly motivated team of people who have proven to make things happen • With your work, you accelerate the "energy transition" and hence have a direct impact on our climate • Work with and learn from other super-smart colleagues • You will enjoy direct contact with core decision-makers • You will enjoy the best chances of entering full-time in one of Europe's most thriving scaleups • You can work in one of our offices in Hamburg, Berlin or Munich • Create a healthy balance alongside your work and enjoy all the benefits of the EGYM Wellpass • Benefits and discounts are yours with Futurebens • Whether city bike or e-bike - be flexible with our job bike …

Staff AI Engineer - AI Infrastructure & Agentic Platform

Remote ✓
S

About ShiftKey ShiftKey is a platform that is disrupting the way healthcare facilities find licensed and certified professionals to fill available shifts. Leveraging marketplace dynamics and deep industry knowledge, the company is playing a vital role in mitigating America’s healthcare staffing shortages, enabling direct connections between facilities and healthcare professionals. By offering the opportunity to work as much or as little as they choose and putting the power back into the hands of healthcare workers, ShiftKey is bringing more licensed professionals back into the workforce, a solution that is solving a major crisis in healthcare. For more information, visit www.ShiftKey.com http://www.ShiftKey.com. The role ShiftKey is a healthcare workforce marketplace operating in a regulated (HIPAA) environment, and we are building toward being an AI-native company. We are past the experimentation phase but nowhere near done - and that middle stage is exactly why this role exists. The Staff AI Engineer owns ShiftKey’s AI infrastructure layer: the organizational knowledge platform, the infrastructure for hosting and operating AI agents in the cloud, and the retrieval layer that powers both internal engineering tools and customer-facing capabilities. A retrieval stack is already in production, serving real workflows today - this is not a from-scratch build. The next layer of the platform is in active development. And the most ambitious parts - richer retrieval over organizational knowledge, agentic infrastructure, the platform API surface, and the cost-governance model that keeps running within budget in a regulated environment - are yours to architect and own. You will not be maintaining someone else’s finished platform, and you will not be starting from a blank page. You will inherit serious retrieval foundations and own architecture of everything that comes next. You will have high autonomy and organization-wide influence, partnering directly with the platform team, AI ambassadors across engineering, and senior engineering leadership. Monthly gross remuneration for this position ranges from PLN 29,600 to PLN 32,000 under an employment contract (CoE/umowa o pracę). Final compensation is determined based on experience and skill level. Where you'll work We prefer candidates based in the Warsaw Metropolitan Area, where we have an office, but we're open to hiring remote within Poland for this role. What you'll be doing • Evolving the AI knowledge platform - taking the retrieval, indexing, and synthesis layer (currently semantic RAG + re-ranking + HyDE) to an organization-wide platform serving both internal engineering tools and customer-facing capabilities. • Architecting and operating agentic infrastructure on AWS - multi-step, tool-using AI systems that plan, retrieve, and act on complex queries and operational events, with cost guardrails and observability built in from day one. • Designing and building graph-based, relationship-aware retrieval across the organization's data sources, enabling multi-hop queries and letting agents accumulate organizational knowledge over time. This is on our roadmap, not in production - you will define the approach. • Partnering with product engineering to define the AI platform API surface, translating infrastructure primitives into developer-ready abstractions. • Building reference agent implementations on the platform - operational-incident triage, customer support, and future agentic use cases - grounding each agent's reasoning in institutional knowledge. • Owning the AI infrastructure cost model: monitoring compute, model, and storage spend, flagging anomalies, and proposing guardrails to keep workloads within defined budgets. What you'll need • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years building and operating production AI/LLM application systems - not research, not prototyping, not demos. • Retrieval engineering beyond the basics. Our stack already includes re-ranking and HyDE; we need someone who has worked at or above that level: hybrid search, re-ranking, query transformation, context-window management, and evaluation of retrieval quality in production. • Working experience with agentic frameworks and multi-step reasoning loops - tool use, iteration control, cost governance, and model routing trade-offs. • Production-grade software engineering fluency (strict typing, testing, async/concurrency, modern toolchain) in Go, Python, or TypeScript, with the ability to ramp into another quickly. • Hands-on experience operating AI workloads on a managed cloud AI platform (AWS Bedrock or Azure AI Foundry), including the identity/secrets model and model access governance. Bedrock preferred given our AWS stack. • Hands-on Terraform experience - able to author and provision new infrastructure independently, not just modify existing modules. • Familiarity with production observability for AI …
