Part-time hiring

Post a part-time job

Part-time and home office belong together for many applicants: people combining work with care duties, studies, or a second job save exactly the time that is scarce when the commute disappears. A part-time role advertised as remote speaks to that group directly.

Why part-time is easier to fill remotely

An on-site part-time role competes for people within commuting distance, and the commute weighs heaviest when the week is short: an hour of travel costs proportionally twice as much at twenty hours a week as it does at forty. Many part-time hires fail on that arithmetic before tasks or pay are ever discussed.

Remove the commute and the pool grows from a commuting radius to a whole country. For hard-to-fill part-time profiles that is often a stronger lever than raising the hourly rate.

What part-time ads usually leave out

The word "part-time" on its own says very little. What decides is the number of hours, when they fall, and how fixed that schedule is. Four hours daily and two full days a week are the difference between workable and impossible for applicants with care duties.

Say whether the hours can grow later. Some applicants deliberately start small and plan to increase; others want a permanently small, predictable workload. Both are legitimate offers. They just need to be in the ad.

What belongs in your part-time ad

  • Weekly hours, as a concrete number or a narrow range
  • When the hours fall and how flexible that is
  • Whether core hours or fixed appointments apply
  • Whether the hours can be increased later
  • Hourly or monthly pay, clearly marked as the part-time figure

Frequently asked questions

How do I post a part-time role remotely?

Create a company account, enter the role in the dashboard, set the employment type to part-time and the work location to remote. After an editorial review the ad appears in the job search.

Should I really put the hours in the ad?

Yes. Without them applicants cannot tell whether the role fits their situation. Stating the hours costs you applications that would not have worked out anyway and saves both sides a conversation.

Can I post several part-time roles at once?

Yes. Each role gets its own ad so it can be found individually in search.

What does an ad cost?

The current terms are on the "post a job ad" page.
