Methodology
Figures come from periodic snapshots of our aggregated remote job index (multiple sources, deduplicated). Salaries are normalized to EUR/month. Median, P25, and P75 are computed across all roles with a known salary.
Pay transparency and the EU Pay Transparency Directive
Only 6% of the remote and hybrid roles we analyze state an explicit salary. The EU Pay Transparency Directive (Directive (EU) 2023/970) aims to change that: employers will have to disclose a pay range to candidates, even before the interview. The transposition deadline passed on 7 June 2026, and Germany has not yet written the directive into national law. Until it does, salary transparency stays largely voluntary, and our aggregated job index shows how rarely it is practised today.
