Job description

Your mission

Hello and welcome to Sungrow Europe! We are looking for a Data Engineer who can turn complex EMS, SCADA and contract data into reliable operational insight across our ESS fleet.

  • Configure, commission and optimise EMS settings, control strategies, setpoints and dispatch logic across the ESS fleet.
  • Diagnose EMS faults, validate software and firmware updates, and support reliable system performance.
  • Serve as the EMS technical contact for Operations and Maintenance teams, the Remote Service Center and HQ.
  • Connect and maintain data feeds from customer EMS platforms, the Insight Portal, SCADA telemetry and ticketing systems.
  • Build robust data pipelines that bring operational sources into a consistent, traceable dataset and resolve data gaps quickly.
  • Develop fleet monitoring dashboards and automate LTSA compliance, availability and ad hoc performance reporting.

Your profile

Sounds like an exciting challenge? To thrive in this role and enjoy a long-term impact, your background could look like this:

  • You hold a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a comparable technical field.
  • You bring experience with SCADA, EMS or industrial telemetry, ideally in ESS, BESS, renewables or a similarly technical environment.
  • You understand BESS control strategies, dispatch logic and PLC behaviour, including hands-on EMS configuration or troubleshooting.
  • You work confidently with SQL and Python or similar languages, time-series data and REST APIs.
  • You have experience building dashboards in tools such as Power BI or Grafana and are familiar with Azure or AWS.
  • You are structured, detail-oriented and able to translate contract requirements into transparent data logic.
  • Knowledge of availability calculations and SLA, LTSA or liquidated damages frameworks is a strong advantage.
  • You communicate confidently in English at C1 level; other European languages are a plus.

Why us?

Join Sungrow Europe's Energy Storage Service team and help shape how we monitor, operate and improve a growing ESS fleet. You will work at the intersection of engineering, operations and data, where your insights directly support system availability, customer commitments and continuous improvement. Expect an international environment, close collaboration with technical experts across Europe and HQ, and meaningful work that advances the transition to clean energy.
