Job description

What it's all about

The Team
Every successful transaction tells a story - of trust, performance, and precision. In our company, payments are not just a backend function; they are the engine that drives revenue, customer experience, and risk management.

Our Payments team sits at the intersection of Product, Operations, Finance, and Risk. We are deeply data-driven and relentlessly focused on clarity. We believe that when payment data is structured, transparent, and reliable, better decisions follow, and performance improves across the entire business.

This role strengthens the analytical backbone of Payments. It brings structure to KPIs, ownership to reporting, and confidence to decision-making.

Your Role
As our Payments Data Analyst, you will own payments reporting and KPI governance end-to-end in Power BI. The role reports to the Head of BI, with Payments and high-level management as key stakeholders.

This is an experienced individual contributor role for someone who thrives on precision, consistency, and analytical depth. You will ensure our payment performance data is accurate, structured, and  decision-ready . You will translate complex operational and business questions into robust SQL logic and clear, actionable dashboards.

Your work will make trends visible, anomalies understandable, and risks measurable – enabling the company to act with confidence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own and continuously improve end-to-end payments dashboards in Power BI
  • Maintain and optimize the payments BI infrastructure and data organization
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across all payment KPIs
  • Standardize KPI definitions across Product, Operations, Finance, and Risk
  • Translate business questions into structured SQL queries and meaningful reporting
  • Lead ad-hoc investigations (authorization drops, decline spikes, PSP comparisons, recovery performance)
  • Proactively identify anomalies, performance trends, and emerging risks
  • Improve documentation and clarity of payment data models
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure reporting aligns with operational reality
  • Collaborate closely with the BI team for peer review and quality assurance before findings and reports reach stakeholders

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics (payments or fintech strongly preferred)
  • Advanced Power BI expertise (data modeling, DAX, performance optimization)
  • Strong SQL skills, with confidence querying and validating complex tables in SQL Server
  • Familiarity with Azure and Microsoft Fabric is a plus
  • Experience working with payment data (PSPs, recurring flows, refunds, chargebacks)
  • Deep familiarity with core payment KPIs, including:
  • Authorization rate (gross vs. net)
  • Decline reason analysis
  • Retry performance
  • Involuntary churn & recovery
  • Fraud and chargeback ratios
  • A strong mindset for data structure, governance, and documentation
  • Ability to explain complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Rigorous self-review habits and willingness to validate findings with colleagues before sharing them onward
  • Direct experience with PSPs or acquirers (e.g.Adyen, Checkout)
  • Experience with payment orchestration platforms (e.g. Spreedly )
  • Experience in subscription or recurring billing environments
  • Basic Python skills for analysis or automation

What You Can Expect On Board

  • A fully remote setup within Europe, built on trust and autonomy
  • High ownership and real impact on revenue-critical systems
  • Cross-functional collaboration with senior stakeholders
  • A culture that values clarity, precision, and thoughtful decision-making
  • The opportunity to shape the payments analytics foundation of a growing company
  • Annual company summer getaway + team meet-ups across the EU

If you see dashboards not just as reports but as decision engines - if you care about clean definitions, structured logic, and measurable impact - this role is for you.

Join us in building a payments analytics foundation that drives smarter decisions, stronger performance, and sustainable growth.
