We're looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to join our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, governance, and cost-effective operation of Ergomed's Cloud (Microsoft Azure) environment. This hands-on role leads the design of new and improvements to existing Azure projects, builds reusable deployment templates and standards, and provides architectural review across the tenant — collaborating with project teams on solution design and standards, with IT stakeholders on demonstrable compliance (e.g. SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA), and with IT Operations on day-to-day support

  • Lead the architecture of new and existing Azure projects, recommending solutions and reviewing designs to ensure strong, repeatable foundations tailored to meet organizational requirements and business objectives
  • Analyze current infrastructure and applications to identify optimization opportunities, cost reduction strategies, and migration pathways to cloud environments
  • Drive improvements in Azure cost management: cost drivers, budgets and alerts, Advisor reviews, and reservation/commitment strategies.
  • Build and maintain reusable project templates and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules so new workloads are provisioned consistently and correctly.
  • • Lead the identification and resolution of architecture gaps, risks, and blockers surfaced through ongoing tenant review, working with relevant teams to close them.
  • Develop, implement and maintain cloud governance frameworks, security policies, and compliance standards to ensure adherence to industry regulations and organizational standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps engineers, security specialists, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into solution architectures that meets Ergomed's cloud standards and updating those standards where required
  • Lead the identification and resolution of architecture gaps, risks, and blockers surfaced through ongoing tenant review, working with relevant teams to close them.
  • Define and maintain tagging, naming, and subscription-structure standards, driving their consistent adoption across the tenant.
  • Work with IT Security and workload teams to achieve and maintain demonstrable compliance (e.g. SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA), putting the right controls in place so compliance status can be evidenced at any time.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies, tools, and services that align with organizational needs, including containerization platforms, orchestration systems, and infrastructure-as-code solutions
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure deployments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and disaster recovery capabilities are properly implemented and tested
  • Establish best practices for cloud resource management, including monitoring, performance optimization, and automated provisioning
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development and operations teams on cloud architecture patterns and cloud-native application design

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cloud architecture, with significant hands-on experience designing and running Azure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in a cloud architecture or senior technical role
  • Deep, hands-on Azure architecture expertise: landing zones, management groups, networking, identity, storage, compute, and security.
  • Proven ability to design and build reusable deployment templates using Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Bicep, Terraform, ARM).
  • Strong understanding of Azure cost management: cost drivers, budgets and alerts, reservations/savings plans, and Azure Advisor
  • Experience defining and enforcing cloud governance frameworks: Azure Policy, management groups, RBAC, and tagging/naming standards.
  • Experience maintaining compliance against frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA, including control implementation and audit evidence.
  • Ability to translate architectural designs into operational requirements, working with IT Operations on support models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with GxP and GAMP5 frameworks, and experience supporting regulated (validated) cloud systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi-cloud strategies and hybrid cloud architectures
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps principles
  • Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns
  • Background in enterprise application migration and modernization projects
