Job description

Zelh is a fast-growing outsourcing company that partners with leading US logistics organizations.

Our mission is to become the most reliable outsourcing partner by delivering consistently high-quality services while building long-term relationships with our clients, employees, and partners. We believe that personal attention, timely communication, continuous improvement, and respect are the foundation of everything we do.

We are looking for a proactive Carrier Sales Representative to support our growing drayage operation. This position is responsible for sourcing, developing, and maintaining relationships with drayage motor carriers throughout the United States while securing competitive capacity for customer shipments. The Drayage Carrier Sales Representative plays a critical role throughout the shipment lifecycle - from quoting and carrier selection through dispatch, scheduling, execution, accessorial management, and final carrier charge verification.

Responsibilities:

Source and develop reliable drayage carriers across major U.S. port and rail markets.

  • Build and maintain strong carrier relationships with dispatchers, owners, and carrier representatives.
  • Identify carrier capacity by proactively contacting carriers about equipment availability, lane preferences, and market conditions.
  • Request and negotiate rates for drayage shipments, including linehaul and accessorial charges, while protecting company margins.
  • Evaluate and select carriers based on pricing, availability, equipment, reliability, and service history.
  • Secure capacity and cover loads after customer approval, ensuring carriers can meet required pickup and delivery dates.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules, including container pulls, appointments, container availability, and Last Free Day (LFD) requirements.
  • Monitor shipment execution and resolve issues, including carrier delays, appointment problems, equipment shortages, and container availability.
  • Manage accessorial charges, such as detention, storage, chassis, waiting time, redelivery, and demurrage-related costs, ensuring proper approval and documentation.
  • Complete shipment closeout, including verifying final carrier charges, collecting required documentation, updating TAI, and ensuring accurate records.
