Alongside is a Portuguese company that partners with international organizations to build and scale exceptional tech teams.
We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join a project in the retail sector .
We are looking for a highly experienced engineer with a strong Python background and solid knowledge of infrastructure and cloud environments. This is a Principal-level position requiring strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Terraform .
Responsabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions using Python.
- Build and maintain APIs using FastAPI.
- Take technical ownership of complex solutions, contributing to architectural and engineering decisions.
- Work closely with cloud infrastructure running on Microsoft Azure.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Contribute to the scalability, reliability, and performance of production systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Apply software engineering best practices and contribute to high technical standards across the project.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience as a Python Engineer.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Python .
- Strong experience developing APIs with FastAPI .
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure .
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) .
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform .
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and modern software architecture.
- Ability to operate at Principal Engineer level, taking ownership of complex technical decisions and solutions.
- Good understanding of software engineering best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus .
- Good level of English, both written and spoken.
