Job description

What it's all about

The Team:
At JobLeads, we believe finding the right job can change a life.

That belief drives everything we build. We’re a team of builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers working at the intersection of data, AI, and human ambition. Unlike most players in the market, our users - not employers - are our paying customers. That single structural difference shapes everything we create: products that genuinely represent job seekers’ interests in a market that has historically ignored them.

Now we’re standing at the starting line of something new.

We’re building an AI-powered product that will fundamentally improve one of the most important - and most frustrating - moments in every job seeker’s journey. A working prototype already exists. What does not exist yet is the product, the live operation around it, or the dedicated team that will run both.

That’s where you come in.

Your Role:
This is a create-and-run role.

As Senior Product Owner, you take end-to-end ownership of a strategically important, AI-driven product area: defining what it becomes, shaping how it’s built, standing up the operation that keeps it trustworthy in production, and building the team that can actually run it.

You start lean. You will not inherit a dedicated department on day one. What you will inherit is leadership backing, access to a strong engineering organisation, and a mandate to define what the team around this product has to look like - then staff it with us. That starts with at least one technically strong engineer on the agentic side, and grows into the operational capacity the live product needs: monitoring, escalation, human-in-the-loop coverage, and a support process that catches failures before the customer sees them.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Product

  • Own the product end-to-end, from an existing prototype through launch and scale
  • Define the product vision and translate it into a structured roadmap - from a focused MVP to a scaled, revenue-generating premium feature
  • Create and manage a quality backlog: epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and iterative releases
  • Design the human-in-the-loop experience: where the AI acts autonomously, and where a human confirms
  • Own the legal, consent, and compliance framework - handling sensitive data is a go/no-go; you drive it to a decision with Legal and leadership before launch
  • Set and own the success metrics that matter - quality, coverage, efficiency, and user trust - and iterate on real outcomes
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies across the wider platform. Owning that intersection is core to the role.

Operations

  • Treat this as a live operation that runs every day against third-party sites that actively defend against automation and keep changing, so the interface is never stable and the work is never done.
  • Stand up monitoring, alerting, and escalation so failures are caught inside the team, not by the customer.
  • Define the support process around it - who watches, who intervenes, what gets handed back, and how fast.
  • Set the operating cadence: what “healthy” looks like day to day, what gets reviewed weekly, and what is a launch blocker versus a known residual risk.

Team

  • Define the team this product actually needs - a shape fit for an agentic product that also has to run as an operation
  • Build the engineering team that takes the prototype to a reliable, user-facing product
  • Staff it with us: start lean, then grow into that shape. What is real is that you decide what “fit for the task” looks like and we hire into it with you.
  • Grow with the product. The natural path is from builder of the MVP to owner of the live product and the operation around it.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of Product Ownership / Product Management, ideally in a data-driven, platform, or marketplace environment
  • A proven track record of taking a product from early-stage capability to something users actually use - and staying with it after launch. You have closed the gap between internal prototype and live product: one where mistakes reach real people at volume.
  • Experience building or owning a quality and evaluation loop for an AI product. You can define what good means in measurable terms and prove it.
  • Experience running a live operation, not only shipping features. You have owned monitoring, quality, incident paths, or a process that has to work every day in front of customers.
  • Evidence you have shaped a team around a product: defined the roles, hired or grown into them, and led the people doing the work. You do not need to have built a 20-person org. You do need to have decided what “enough team” looks like and made it real
  • Comfort with AI/LLM-driven products - you don’t need to code, but you need to understand agent behaviour and success/quality/cost trade-offs
  • Strong analytical judgment: decisions grounded in data, fluency in metrics, OKRs, and experimentation
  • The maturity to own ambiguous, high-stakes topics (legal, …
