ABOUT THE ROLE
Pragmatike is recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing SaaS company building a modern healthcare platform used by medical professionals. As the product continues to scale, the engineering team is expanding to support increasingly complex integrations, security requirements, and platform reliability.
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong backend expertise in NestJS to help design, build, and scale the core platform. This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you'll own backend architecture, develop reliable distributed systems, and collaborate closely with frontend and product teams to deliver high-quality features.
The ideal candidate has a strong product mindset, thrives in startup environments, and actively leverages AI-assisted development to improve engineering velocity while maintaining high code quality.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using NestJS
- Architect APIs, caching layers, queues, and distributed services for high-performance SaaS applications
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems using REST APIs (SOAP experience is a plus)
- Collaborate closely with frontend and product teams to deliver end-to-end product features
- Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and technical architecture decisions
- Leverage AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate implementation, testing, and debugging
- Take ownership of features from design through production in a fast-moving startup environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience building production SaaS applications
- Strong expertise with NestJS (mandatory)
- Experience with Redis, caching strategies, and queuing systems such as RabbitMQ or equivalent
- Strong experience with TypeORM
- Good knowledge of Next.js and Tailwind CSS
- Proven experience designing and integrating REST APIs
- Experience building scalable backend systems with asynchronous architectures
- Fluent English with strong communication skills
- Ability to effectively use AI coding assistants to accelerate development and debugging workflows. Familiarity with open-source AI frameworks and modern coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar is a MUST.
- Ownership mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- French language skills
- Experience building Chrome Extensions
- Background in MedTech or Healthcare SaaS
- Knowledge of end-to-end encryption
- Experience integrating SOAP services alongside REST APIs
- Mobile development experience, particularly with React Native
- Experience introducing AI-assisted or agentic development workflows across engineering teams
AI-FIRST ENGINEERING
AI is an integral part of the engineering workflow. During the interview process, we'll explore how you use AI in real-world software development, including:
We're looking for engineers who use AI as a force multiplier for software quality, productivity, and problem-solving, not simply as an autocomplete tool.
WHY JOIN US
- Join a product-focused engineering team building technology that supports healthcare professionals
- Take ownership of core backend systems and influence technical architecture
- Work across modern backend infrastructure, frontend applications, and complex integrations
- Help shape engineering best practices in a fast-growing startup environment
- Collaborate with a highly technical, remote-first team focused on shipping high-quality software
