Job description
What we’re looking for
We're looking for a hands-on Hardware Quality Engineer to strengthen the quality and maturity of our mechanical and electrical hardware development. This is not a production-quality or QMS role, it's an engineering-focused quality position embedded within Hardware: someone who walks into the workshop and asks "why did this bracket crack?" rather than scheduling a meeting about a checklist. This is a role for a strong engineer in one discipline who can identify hardware risks early, drive root-cause investigations, and make sure hardware is mature before formal testing and release.
The day-to-day
- Design assurance: support hardware design assurance from prototype through release
- Technical review: review requirements, interfaces, design outputs, and technical evidence for completeness and robustness
- Risk management: facilitate DFMEAs and ensure key risks are reflected in design controls and verification
- Cross-domain integration: focus on hardware interfaces such as mechanical/electrical integration, connectors, grounding, and thermal interfaces
- Root-cause investigation: coordinate structured root-cause investigations for hardware and integration failures, tracking corrective actions
- Test readiness: work with Test and Flight Test to ensure hardware is ready for formal verificati on
You should apply if you
- Experience: you bring 5+ years of experience in hardware development, hardware quality, product assurance, or reliability engineering
- Technical depth: you have strong technical depth in either mechanical or electrical/electronic hardware
- System understanding: you have a broad understanding of complex electro-mechanical products
- Methodology: you're experienced with design reviews, DFMEA, root-cause analysis, and engineering change control
- Working style: you're pragmatic and hands-on, comfortable working directly with prototypes, assemblies, and failed hardware
- Education: you hold a degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline
Nice to haves
- Domain background: experience in UAVs, aerospace, defense, robotics, or automotive electronics
- Evidence-based challenge: you can constructively challenge engineering decisions based on evidence, not hierarchy
- High-reliability products: experience with medical devices, industrial automation, or other high-reliability electro-mechanical products
What we offer
- Real impact & ownership: Shape high-tech defense systems and take responsibility from day one.
- Mission-driven environment: Work on technologies that matter for European security and sovereignty.
- Competitive package: Competitive salary, EGYM Wellpass , corporate benefits, and equity options aligned with role and level.
- Deep tech environment: Get hands-on experience with cutting-edge drone technology and real operational use cases.
- Grow fast: Steep learning curve for juniors, strategic influence and leadership opportunities for seniors.
- Startup mindset meets defence innovation: flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and space for your ideas.
- Flexibility: Flexible hours, remote options, and relocation support.
- Strong team: International, driven colleagues and a culture built on exchange, trust, and shared success.
