Creative Strategist (Belgium-Netherlands)

Your mission

As a  Creative Strategist (Belgium-Netherlands)  at OVAL,  you will take the lead on strategic challenges for clients in both countries and contribute to the direction and growth of our agency.  You will work closely with colleagues from both regions to strengthen our strategic vision and approach.  You have a deep understanding of experience-driven communication and know how to help brands make an impact on their target audiences.

Your Responsibilities

• Strategic Foundation: You are part of the strategy team and work closely with the creative teams in both the Netherlands and Belgium. You ensure a strong substantive and strategic creative foundation within the organization and inspire your direct colleagues. You report directly to the Managing Director.
• Strategy Development: You develop strategic-creative directions and relevant content for our clients (B2B, B2C, and B2E), translating these into plans and presentations featuring concrete communication, campaign, and event strategies.
• Collaboration: You partner with the creative, account, and production teams to create innovative, effective, and impactful Brand Experiences and Events for a diverse range of brands.
• Insights & Trends: You immerse yourself in human behavior (employees, consumers, and B2B partners) as well as the markets and sectors in which our clients operate, identifying trends and insights that contribute to innovative strategies and ideas.
• Client Engagement: You "get under the skin" of clients and their target groups, helping them formulate strategic objectives and solutions by designing and leading strategic sessions, workshops, co-creation sessions, and presentations.
• Creative Briefing: You translate complex client inquiries into sharp, inspiring creative briefings and persuasive presentations.
• Business Development: You contribute to OVAL's business development by participating in pitches and creating (proactive) proposals for potential clients.
• Quality Assurance: You safeguard the quality and consistency of our strategic and creative output across both the Netherlands and Belgium.

Your profile

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a strategic role within marketing, communications, or branding, preferably in an agency environment.
• Expertise: Deep understanding of experience-driven communication and its impact on brand perception.
• Mindset: A critical thinker with an analytical and curious mindset.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex material clearly and persuasively.
• Attitude: Proactive, entrepreneurial, and hands-on—you see opportunities and seize them.
• Teamwork: A strong team player who builds connections and stimulates collaboration between the teams in Belgium and the Netherlands. You are willing to work from each of the offices on a regular basis.
• Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English. (French and German are a plus.)
