Software Engineer (macOS platform)

This full-time position is open to remote workers based anywhere in Europe.

Your Job

• You will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining business logic and UI parts of the Hornetsecurity endpoint protection products that help users around the world to remove malware from their systems and stay protected. This role is specifically dedicated to macOS development.
• Primary responsibility is focused on architecture, development and maintenance related to new and existing Hornetsecurity client software components that are designed to support multiple platforms (macOS and Windows). This involves everything from minor code changes to design of new modules, including writing code, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• You will contribute to cross-component communication and integration, including networking and inter-process communication mechanisms.
• You will collaborate closely with DevOps and build pipelines to ensure reliable delivery, signing, and deployment of macOS applications.
• You’ll complete documentation and provide input to improve procedures for installation, development and maintenance processes.

Your Profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining desktop applications for macOS.
• Professional experience with one or more of: C#/.NET Core, C, C++, or Java.
• Swift and/or Objective-C experience is a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of both macOS and Windows architectures.
• Experience with macOS code signing and application signing processes is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with GitLab Pipelines, Azure Pipelines and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD) is highly desirable.
• Experience with networking and messaging technologies such as sockets, gRPC, and RabbitMQ is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with crash dump analysis and common source control systems.
• Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
