Senior Full Stack Engineer - Task Mining

The Team

Our team builds Celonis' end-to-end Task Mining solution. Task Mining is the technology that lets businesses capture user interaction data (desktop) so they can analyze how teams actually get work done — and how they can do it even better. We own the full stack behind it: the desktop client, backend services, data-processing pipeline, and Studio frontend applications.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who's happiest working across the whole stack — from the Studio UI users interact with, through the backend services and APIs, down to the data pipeline — and who has a solid understanding of the algorithmic and AI backend that powers our insights.

You don't need to be the person inventing the ML algorithms, but you should be comfortable working alongside them: integrating AI/ML capabilities into real products, building the UIs that make them usable, exposing them through clean APIs, and reasoning about the data that flows through it all. Our mission is broad and growing: turning raw signals about how people work into structured, actionable insight. We want someone who can help turn these capabilities into polished, end-to-end product experiences.

You'll work primarily in TypeScript/Angular on the frontend and Python & Java on the backend, with SQL across the data layer. You'll set technical direction, raise the engineering bar, and mentor others along the way.

What you'll do

• Build features end-to-end — design and ship user-facing capabilities that span the Studio frontend, backend services, and the data pipeline behind them.
• Craft great UI/UX: build performant, accessible, well-tested Angular applications that make complex Task Mining data and AI-driven insights intuitive to work with.
• Develop robust backend services and APIs (async Python; Java) on a multi-tenant SaaS platform, and the data models behind them.
• Integrate AI and algorithmic capabilities into the product — connect discovery/extraction/insight features to real UIs and workflows, with the right guardrails, feedback, and observability so users can trust the results.
• Work fluently with data: write and understand SQL (and PQL, our Process Query Language), and help shape how data moves through ingestion, processing, and transformation.
• Own delivery end-to-end: lead design, implementation, build, and shipping to customers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship — drive design discussions, code reviews, and technical planning to keep standards high and knowledge shared across frontend and backend.

The qualifications you need

• 5+ years of practical software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.
• Strong full-stack ability: proven experience with a modern component-based frontend framework (Angular ideal; React/Vue transferable) in TypeScript, and building robust backend services and APIs.
• Strong backend engineering skills in Python & Java (async services/APIs) and/or comparable languages.
• A solid understanding of algorithms and AI/ML concepts — enough to integrate, reason about, and productize AI-driven features (including LLM-based ones), even if you're not building the models yourself.
• Good grasp of data fundamentals: SQL and query optimization, ETL, and data modeling.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD (e.g. GitHub Actions).
• Quality care: testing, typing, accessibility, and performance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills (English is a must).
