Your work will uncover hidden patterns, validate the impact of operational strategies, and deliver actionable recommendations to the operations team. This role is perfect for a proactive problem solver who thrives at the intersection of data science and logistics, and is passionate about turning operational complexity into scalable, data-driven solutions. We’ve fully embraced AI-assisted development to amplify our impact, and we’re looking for a teammate who is excited to build and innovate using modern, AI-driven workflows too.
Your Responsibilities
- Generate data-driven insights : Perform in-depth data analyses to understand operational patterns, capacity dynamics, and resource utilization, delivering actionable insights that drive efficiency improvements.
- Build and validate proof-of-concepts : Develop POCs for innovative operational strategies, test and validate their impact on key performance metrics.
- Design and own advanced optimization models : Create and maintain forecasting and optimization models using machine learning and operations research techniques to ensure scalable and efficient operations.
- Shape and evolve operational strategy : Leverage your analytical expertise to refine and enhance FINN's operational processes, ensuring alignment with growth targets and business objectives.
- Collaborate : Partner with other data and tech teams as well as operations stakeholders in a cross-functional setup and align your work with business objectives.
Your Profile
- Graduated with a Master's degree in a relevant data field of study (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Applied mathematics), a PhD is a plus.
- 3+ years of professional experience in operations-heavy environments (preferably logistics, supply chain, mobility, or e-commerce fulfillment).
- Technical expertise: Proven track record in data and time-series analysis, statistical modelling, and implementing forecasting and optimization models from scratch.
- Proven experience integrating AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) into your daily analytics workflow to write code, explore data, and ship work.
- Proficient in Agentic development.
- Proficient in the data stack: SQL, Python, GCP.
- Operations & optimization expertise: Experience in building and deploying capacity planning, resource allocation, or logistics optimization solutions end-to-end.
- Stakeholder engagement: Skilled at presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including C-level.
- Problem-solving: Exceptional ability to break down complex operational problems and develop data-driven solutions.
- Flexibility: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities – operations doesn't wait.
- Fluent in English. German is a plus.
